Day 63: stepping out into the unknown

3 Mar

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.
Dale Carnegie

We found a new path today.

Pup and I walked past the opening in the fence — it’s the gate we pass every day on his afternoon walk — I looked the gate up and down and wondered why haven’t we ever gone through it?

This being the month I vowed to breakout of fear and venture into new experiences, I knew I had to do something about it. So, I looked down at Pup and he looked back at me as if nodding in approval with his big brown eyes.

Off into the wild unknown we walked.

We found sidewalks and hidden pathways, lizards, and squirrels.

We saw ducks swimming and birds flying.

But, more than anything, we tried something new by just walking through a gate into the unknown.

And,I suppose that’s the hardest part of anything new, isn’t it?
Just taking the first step.
