Today is the Super Bowl.
Not so “super” for us New England Patriots’ fans. Since we are NOT in it. Just the thought of that last game brings up sad memories.
Tonight, we will watch the big game over here anyway.
(I, for one, prefer the commercials anyway.)
But the pressing game has me thinking about happiness.
And how that relates to abundance.
Here’s one way to get happy.
Check out Lily in this video. She is surprised by her parents with an early birthday gift (If you have not already seen the video I won’t spoil the teaser!)
And, here’s another.
According to Researcher Michael Norton, happiness can be bought.
Well, sort of.
Based on his studies Norton, an associate professor of marketing, calculated that giving away $500 increased feelings of wealth as much as did earning an extra $10,000.
So basically, the act of GIVING feels so good, it makes you happy. At least, happier.
The bottom line: spending money on OTHER people makes you happier than spending money on yourself. (And it doesn’t matter what the amount is!)
You can see more on that here, in this TEDx talk.
More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
