Day 123: try something new

3 May

When was the last time you tried something new?
Like, really, tried something never-been-done-before in your life?

Last Friday, I added a new adventure to The Promise 365.

Something I have never done before.
It took place at a spa.
Under water.

Can you guess what it was?

What’s up WATSU?

It’s Water + Shiatsu.
If you need to relax every cell of your body, and you love a warm bath, well WATSU is right up your alley!

I owe a huge thanks to Debbie Phillips for introducing me to this amazing treatment.

It was so relaxing I was left certifiably comatose for hours later.
Seriously.

(Plus, I did get up at 4 o’clock in the morning to watch the royals wed, so it helped that I was almost asleep by the time I hit the water.)

I have to admit I felt a few nerves before hopping in the pool.
Which seems silly doesn’t it?

But, the reason is simple.
It was just because I had never done it before.

Which reminds me why being a child is so awesome.
As is awe + something new.

When was the last time you tried something new and felt that fresh spark of nerves run up your spine?

Or saw the world through new eyes, or tried a new experience, or put yourself out there and jumped in with both feet at the same time?

The Promise 365 isn’t always easy, but these new experiences and adventures are so worth it.

Standing on the edge of the pool is always the hardest part.
If you’ve got something new you want to try, I say this:
Dive In!

Your turn! Share your thoughts, fears, loves, ideas...
