Day 222: f*ing friday :: finding

10 Aug

Today continues the weekly series, F*ing Fridays, which will coincidentally occur on Friday. In Year One, I mentioned some of my favorite F words back on Day 5, including: Fearless, Fabulous, Fine, Fun, Faith, Freedom, Forgiveness, to name a Few.

Last week I dove into the word Fishing

Today’s F*ing Friday is dedicated to the word:

As in, two pups in a pod.

It’s hard to imagine these two without each other now. All cuddled up in bed, snuggled in next to each other on this rainy, rainy, tornado watch sort of night.  They look as if they have always been together, as if they were destined to be brothers.

We couldn’t have searched or found them if we tried.

Pup was a rescue, found on the side of a highway in Oregon, left for dead with the rest of his litter mates.

Brady was the first one born and bought from his litter in Florida, with the request not to dock his tail.  But then, due to a paperwork snafu, he was never claimed.

And, somehow, from two corners of the world, both have landed in our laps.

Both dogs have red coats and long tails.
They share high energy, long legs and big grins.

But they aren’t exactly the same.
Brady loves the water. Pup hates it.
Pup is scared of doors. Brady barges right through.
Brady only sits. Pup gives high-fives, shakes and rolls over.

It’s as if they have what each other needs, balancing out a brotherly energy.

And, that makes me think… isn’t this true for most things we find in life?  Friends, lovers, and other significants?  We find exactly what we need when we need it, as if it has been waiting there all along.

And just like our pups, at times, I feel like even if we have been dropped off on the side of the highway, or passed up due to paperwork snafus — we end up finding something even better out there waiting.

Happy F*ing Friday.
May finding be most of the fun!
