Day 312: f*ing friday :: frank

9 Nov

Today continues the weekly series, F*ing Fridays, which will coincidentally occur on Friday. In Year One, I mentioned some of my favorite F words back on Day 5, including: Fearless, Fabulous, Fine, Fun, Faith, Freedom, Forgiveness, to name a Few.

Last week I dove into the word Fearlessly.

Today’s F*ing Friday is dedicated to the word:

As in, Frank Lloyd Wright.

Let me be frank…

Ever since I started this promise to be lovemore and fearless this year, all I see are hearts.

I see hearts in rocks.
In leaves.
In the sand and in puddles on the sidewalk.

And, today, this caught my eye:  a heart-shaped island.

It’s for sale.

For just $19,000,000 you could own this 11-acre Petre Island in Lake Mahopac in Putnam County, New York.  It includes 3 structures: Frank Lloyd Wright-designed main residence, guest cottage and artist studio.

The f*ing ironic part?
It’s for sale through Aha Life, a website devoted to curating the finest there is to buy. Let me say that again, you can literally bid to buy this property online.

I suppose it struck me most because it proves that we can buy anything online these days. Even a private island.

On the other hand, it also makes me appreciate even more the chance happening of spotting a fallen leaf, a lonely rock, or a puddle of water on the street — all in the shape of a heart.

Sure, I could probably find a place to buy ALL of that online, somewhere, somehow.

But, the mere act of spotting them in nature, randomly, haphazardly, unexpectedly, surprisingly, gives me a rush like no other.

It is as if they found me.
And, frankly, it feels pretty good to be noticed.

Here’s to you.

Happy F*ing Friday!
