GIFT DAY 102: 30-day gratitude challenge: day 26: the gift of giving

12 Apr

Day 26 over here of the 30-Day Gratitude Challenge.
It’s Friday! What are you grateful for today?

Today, I am grateful for:

1) Friends checking up on me

2) Family coming to visit us at the beach tonight

3) Tofu (yes…. she said tofu!)

It’s F*ing Friday over here!
In my first two years of blogging I dedicated Fridays to F-words, including: Fearless, Fabulous, Fine, Fun, Faith, Freedom, Forgiveness, to name a Few.

Today, I am dedicating this Friday to the word Feed
As in… hunger pains.

Week two of the Alkaline Diet over here, and while I have sufficiently been feeding my face I find myself well…how do I say this… hungry?

I’m also hungry for details.

My doctor called and left a message today with my test results. I have a cyst and need to see an endocrinologist next, but her message said she wanted to walk me through it.

What does mean?

I’ve thought about how much to share with you about this recent medical journey and have landed on this: I am all in, an open door, transparently yours.

The reason? Fear and fearlessness all wrapped into one.

This is the sort of thing that brings me to my knees. I call it the Waiting Place — partly knowing and not knowing anything at all at the same time.

It’s frightening. Justin scolded me to stop Googling “thyroid cyst” today, and while I know he’s right, I also know I am left with nothing else to do, except pray and reflect on all that I love.

Even then, sometimes it’s what we don’t know that scares us most. Whether there’s a monster under the bed or a cyst in your throat.

The scary part always goes away when the light shines in.
I’ll be over here just waiting for the sun to rise and the phone to ring…

More tomorrow.
Lovemore (fearless),

Jamie

A LITTLE GIFT OF THE DAY:  Love this article about having it all from Daily Worth. If you’re feeling the pinch of time between family/career, it’s got a few good reminders.

Hang in there Jamie! I’ve been going through the same waiting game but got good news and an “all clear” today. I know what the waiting place feels like, but hopefully “relief” will be yours too! One of the best feelings in the world.
