BLOG – GIFT DAY 190 :: thank you jaynane

9 Jul

SO…. Tonight I reveal who received yesterday’s card.
And I will share some stats about today’s card too.First of all…. this just in.
YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.I am more and more excited about this idea by the day.  YOU can DO anything.

ANYTHING.
Anything you put your mind to that is.

So what is it that you want? To do? By when?
Feel free to join all of us over here at The Promise Daily and share.

Yesterday I kicked off a new challenge, namely, saying thank you.

My plan is to write a card (by hand, yes… that means pen and paper) each and every day until my upcoming surgery.

Maybe it’s the impending surgery infecting my brain, but I’m just feeling thankful. Super, duper thankful.

(By the way, my ex-prior-relationship-from-days-gone-by always told me to never say the word “super” — he thought it sounded trivial and juvenile and not appropriate for a grown woman. Of course, to that, I say SUPER!! anyway.)

Anyhoo… I owe you my secret from yesterday.
I sent the most loving card I could find to someone very special yesterday. She was my nurse 20 years ago and she will be by my side next month for my next surgery.

She is Justin’s mother.
But, she is so much more than that to me.

She was Mama Sling’s best friend.
And she has always been like a mother to me.

Thank you, Jaynane. For being here for me, in SO MANY WAYS throughout the years, in the ups and downs, the surgeries and the treatments, the good times and the bad — always with a smile on your face and a SUPER DUPER resolve that cannot be broken.

You are the wind beneath my wings — and the only nurse who could ever get my veins to play nicely on a blood draw.

I am grateful, thankful, and your biggest fan.

Now… for tomorrow.
I will reveal who today’s card went to. She is:

  • talented
  • fun
  • brilliant
  • artistic
  • a dog lover
  • living on the east coast
More tomorrow.
Lovemore {fearless}
Jamie
{who can you thank today?}
