Today, in my month-long nod to inspiration, I share design. And fonts.
Because I love fonts.
As I sat down to write tonight I stopped and wondered. Why do I love fonts so much…. and really, what is the root of this inspiration thing anyway? I know it when I feel it (like finding a fabulous new font!) but I can’t quite describe it.
So I looked it up.
After reading the definition of “Inspiration” I felt an overwhelming “duh” coming on. Here’s the exact definition for you to ponder:
INSPIRATION
1. the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, esp. to do something creative.
2. the drawing in of breath; inhalation.
Inspiration lights us up, somewhere in the heart and the brain. Scientists have now actually pinpointed a specific area of the brain “lights up” when the Aha moment arrives.
Or, when I find a new font. So tonight I share a little inspiration for your holiday font needs. Thanks to Lia Griffith and her favorite free script fonts for the holidays.
If that’s not lighting up a lobe in your brain, check out 100 Great Resources for Design Inspiration.
Better yet, just ask yourself: what inspires me? What does it feel like when I am totally and completely inspired?
While you think about that one I’ll be salivating over Alex Brush, Marcelle Script and Maratre.
Aha!
More tomorrow.
Lovemore {playmore!}
