2014 BLOG – DAY 35 :: what makes you tick?

4 Feb

I’ve been staring at a note all day.

It says, “What makes you tick?”
Oh, the tough questions of life.

What does make me tick I ask you?
You? Him? Her? They? It? Us?

What makes us tick?
According to my Strengths Finder score I need to achieve something every single day or I don’t feel accomplished (or good about myself).

That might explain why I write a blog every night …for four years straight. It might explain my “perseverance” to show up here in my own way against all odds (hurricanes, floods, blizzards, cross country moves, surgery… I mean, really?)

Or, it could be my other strength of being a “Relator” ….take this sentence right out of the book for instance:

As a Relator regarding your relationships, “You want to understand their feelings, their goals, their fears and their dreams.”

Um… yeah.
I have to say it’s kind of bizarre to read a description of yourself in a book of personality traits. Somehow it takes away from my sense of being my own unique human being. And in another way it’s comforting …as if there is a code to what makes me tick.

Here’s the kicker. The sentence that hit me straight in my RELATOR heart:
“No matter how busy you are, stay in contact with your friends. They are your fuel.”

That’s what makes me tick.
What about you?

More tomorrow.
Lovemore {fearless}

{what makes you tick?}
