2014 BLOG – DAY 42 :: peak performance: practice

11 Feb

A saying has stuck in my head.

“Practice makes permanent.”

I’ve written about this before. My high school basketball coach repeated this over and over. I think she was trying to make a point.

It stuck.

It’s fascinating what stays lodged inside your brain. Even after years of “real life” and the adventures of adulthood. Somehow, this saying has adhered itself to the membranes of my overstuffed noggin.

“Practice makes permanent.”

It popped into my head again tonight as I watched a recap of Olympic workouts on TV. As in, how real athletes lift weights.

It’s heavy stuff.
It’s also the thing champions are made of.

What we do over and over again becomes a part of us. It is in fact the sum of our lives.

And that makes me wonder what I’m made of… (other than coffee, carrots and hummus…)

What are you made of?

Practice makes permanent.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore {fearless}

{what are you made of?}
