2014 BLOG – DAY 68 :: how to pick flowers in an earthquake

9 Mar

Well that was interesting.

Either I just felt my first earthquake since moving west … or Daylight Savings has me completely turned upside down.

Or both. Because something just happened.  The quake was about  7.0 and 50 miles west of Eureka, CA.

I’m pretty sure I felt it up here in Grants Pass. Justin already went to bed so I have no one to verify if I am going crazy or if it really happened.

So that’s what I’m doing, sitting here wondering if I am making this up in my head, or if it really happened. I keep searching Twitter for more breaking news updates. The best update so far is that there is no Tsunami warning.

Prelim. 6.9M #earthquake hits off coast near Eureka. No tsunami threat, officials say- http://cbsloc.al/1gd8ZGL

Which makes me feel better. And then that makes me wonder what would happen if there was a tsunami threat…. I mean, I’m sure we are far enough away from the coast, but what about the coast???

I must admit, I feel like a stranger in a strange land here in Oregon. Learning all of these new ways, finding new kinds of flowers blooming outside my door, and now, trying to figure out what just rocked my world.

So, I think I will focus on the flowers instead…. the pretty, pretty flowers.

Between the two, I pick flowers.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
