Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 151 :: i’ll give you 4 guesses…

31 May

Can you figure out what I did today?

More tomorrow.

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 150 :: baby bell beauties

30 May

We ate sweet peas and raspberries from the garden today. Like one sweet pea and one raspberry each. But who’s counting?

Well, I am. I am back into my garden watch mode, counting every little thing poking up out of the ground (3 corn stalks) and budding (5 beans).

And growing — one tiny, baby, green bell pepper!

And then I whisper and sing. “Grow, sweet pepper! Grow!”

Does anyone else talk to their garden?

More tomorrow.

{whisper and sing}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 149 :: kale, kale, kale

29 May

Today I learned how to harvest kale. Okay, it’s not complicated. But I haven’t done it before.

Until now…

It came direct from the garden and we already have enough kale for a salad!

What a beautiful thing.

More tomorrow.

{spot something beautiful today?}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 148 :: red berry blur

28 May

Summer is bringing bright colors, and today a red blur is starting to show up on the raspberry bush.

I’m thinking jam and jelly and freezing berries.

But more than anything, I’m thinking this is beautiful….
I can’t wait for more!

More tomorrow.

{what will summer bring you?}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 147 :: blue beauties popping

27 May

The blueberries are here! The blueberries are here!

It might be the first natural sign of summer. But I am more enchanted by the colors. I am always amazed that Nature is able to make every color combination work…always.

And these little berries are beauties.

I love the soft, light blue. I love the purple tips that look like the berry is blushing before it starts to pop blue all over.

Mother Nature does it again.

And it’s beautiful.

More tomorrow.

{what are your first signs of summer?}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 146 :: a happy puppy’s life

26 May

I couldn’t stop smiling today as Brady ran around the yard. He’s such a happy puppy.

He’s also a hot mess who gets into trouble, jumps the fence and walks on Grandma’s kitchen table (that is set with Christmas dinner – true story).

But we love him.
He’s SO happy all the time.

Even when he tries to jump on top of the refrigerator to sneak a cookie (this weekend). Or when he jumps into the shower with me to see what is going on (yesterday).  The latter just gave him an excuse to get a bath, and me a great big scare.
But he’s happy. And there’s nothing more sweet than a happy puppy.

Today, as we celebrate and remember I am left with this wish:  that we can all be happy puppies.

And that we have the freedom to enjoy that happiness.

More tomorrow.

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 145 :: happy memorial day

25 May

I couldn’t help myself when I found this image.  I see hearts everywhere I go — I even found a mole on my arm that looks like a heart.

But I couldn’t think of a better image than this one for today.

More tomorrow.

{happy memorial day}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 144 :: forgetting is easy

24 May

It’s funny how easy it is to forget.

For instance, today, I tried on my bras, my swimming suit tops and summer tank tops. All to measure if my breasts have grown with the saline fill last week (all part of the reconstructive surgery).

You would think one could remember what size her breasts were a mere month ago. You would think something that you waited for years to pop up and out of your prepubescent shirt would become implanted in your brain.

It hasn’t.
I can’t remember what “they” looked like or even felt like. Right now, “they” look smaller and bigger all at the same time.

It’s because they are different. Different shaped, differently angled, and a different filler on the inside too.

It’s funny how easy  it is to forget something you’ve worn around most of your life.  And tonight, it makes me realize how easy it is to forget most of the things that we yearn for, long for, work for …after they end.

I suppose that’s what Memorial Day Weekend is for.

To remember the things we should never forget, when we have moved on, life has changed, or something different has taken its place.

Here’s to all of those who have served.

Even when it’s hard to remember it’s important not to forget.

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 142 :: just a little bit of beauty

23 May

It’s Friday! It’s the weekend. So here’s just a little bit of beauty from this beautiful world by Our Beautiful World.

More tomorrow.

{what beauty will you find this weekend?}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 141 :: home again, home again

22 May

Jiggity jig.

Or, maybe I should say juggity jugs after my latest “fill up” in Portland.

Either way, I’m tired. So I leave you with this:

“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.”

More tomorrow.
{here’s to a new day}
