Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 133 :: treasure sea glass hearts

14 May

I have received some of the most thoughtful and beautiful gifts in the mail over the past month. I am just amazed at the love and support I have received from all corners of the world.

Today I opened up an envelope from Cohasset, Massachusetts. The envelope was bumpy and hard.

What tumbled out was the most beautiful treasure: a sea glass heart.

It inspired me to look up the definition of sea glass:
Sea glass begins as normal shards of broken glass that are then persistently tumbled and ground until the sharp edges are smoothed and rounded. In this process, the glass loses its slick surface but gains a frosted appearance over many years.

It made me stop and think.
Because I can relate.

In so many ways I feel like a normal shard of broken glass that has been persistently tumbled and ground. But through the process the sharp edges have been smoothed and rounded.

And isn’t the end result a more beautiful treasure?

That’s my beauty spot of the day.

More tomorrow.

{where have you been tumbled into beauty?}
