The New Year is here. And, while I am officially on Sudafed (which, by they way, you have to show your ID to purchase from a pharmacist!) I am excited and gearing up for 2015. While I can barely talk, having almost lost my voice to this now epidemic cold bug, I still have words.
And words are precious. Medicine really. They can heal or hurt. They can bind and bolster. Words are power. And words are what I use to make a promise at the beginning of each year.
Not a resolution. Because promises are more powerful. Especially those that you show up for every single day. And so, with that, let’s go!
This year I am making my new promise, to quote Joseph Campbell, to “Follow Your Bliss”…
“Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn’t know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn’t have opened for anyone else.”
― Joseph Campbell
So there it is! BLISS. I like the sound of it. It’s beautiful, and mysterious and almost magical.
Bliss.
I’m really not sure exactly what bliss is, but I’m willing to go on a fantastic journey to find out. Care to join me?
Follow your bliss.
Let’s get some Bliss On!
More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
I’m with you!
Lovemore always
I’m with you too! Love the idea of this.
Thank you! I am slowly coming up for air here… and love seeing your name here! Here’s to getting some bliss on in 2015. xoxo
