JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 300 :: all hallows bliss

31 Oct

Today’s bliss…. a spoonful of sugar.

Who else could I be on Halloween in the Year of Bliss? But Mary Poppins of course! (Borrowed hat, umbrella and belt …thanks Jaynane!).

Enjoying Halloween …in the most delightful way.

More tomorrow.

{happy halloween}

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 299 :: friday’s bliss

30 Oct

Today’s bliss…. this. Simply this… Friday night.
Every night I sit and think. What is the most profound, important thought coming to my mind as I write. What should I share on this blog?

And tonight… I have this. Friday. It’s FriDAY! I love Fridays… feel good Fridays!

But the secret to all that is simply this. This moment. This present moment. This second of really being alive, feeling alive, just being present.

Today, I have signed my name to two different cards for two different people in my life going through medical procedures. And, the only silver lining to that is the reminder of this…. THIS present moment.

Happy blissful Friday.
Stay present.

More tomorrow.

{can you feel it?}

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 298 :: boston’s bliss

29 Oct

Today’s bliss…. oh Pats!

Even from the west coast we can feel the love.

There’s something very special (even for someone like me who doesn’t know the first thing about football) about watching your team win.

Boston’s bliss.

More tomorrow.

Can’t stop laughing.

Can’t stop laughing.

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 296 :: blissful gym

27 Oct

Today’s bliss…. sore muscles.

That’s right, Gym. We’re back and in action. At least for the time being, until I get bored with the stair stepper and move on to a yoga class… but for now, hello Gym! It’s good to be back.

My back would also like to say thank you. And youch!
But it hurts so good.
Almost blissful.

More tomorrow.
{what are you saying hello to?}

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 295 :: monday bliss

26 Oct

Today’s bliss…. the week has begun. Simple as that.
Sometimes that’s the best sort of bliss… just getting started and loving a Monday for what it is…another start.

Which reminds me of this quote spotted on a coffee shack drive up window.

If you love life, life will love you back.

Goodnight Monday.
See you soon Tuesday!

More tomorrow.
{feel the love?}

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 294 :: blissfully back

25 Oct

Today’s bliss…. my computer is up and running. It’s baaaaaack!
And boy does that make my life more blissful.

It was so incredibly stressful not having access to my computer over the weekend, I don’t even want to  imagine life without it during the work week. And just like that, I am completely held hostage by a small square piece of metal that glows in the dark.

How did that happen?
Is it the downside of the technological revolution?

Which reminds me of this from photographer Eric Pickersgill:  Justin sent the link to me a few days ago — it’s a photo series of our world with nothing in the hand that holds our technology.

A photographer edits out our smartphones to show our strange and lonely new world

It’s art, probably because it’s commentary. And it’s true.
And all I have to say back is this. Technology is bliss.
When it works.

More tomorrow.

Jamie’s Blog Day 293 :: what the?

24 Oct

Oh vey. What’s not bliss? Computer issues.

What is bliss? Having a backup iPad.

…and that’s all this girl can write tonight.

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 292 :: blissful fall friday

23 Oct
Today’s Bliss….. a Fall Friday.

My favorite day of the week. When the weekend is still all in front of me and it feels like there are two free days ahead to get caught up where the week left me behind.

And now – such bliss! – that we live near family there are those Saturday soccer games to close out the final days of fall.

Ahh….. a Fall Friday.

Does it get any better than this?

More tomorrow.

{happy friday?}

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 291 :: blissful starry night

22 Oct
Today’s Bliss….. a shooting star.

Actually, it was officially last night, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the starry, starry night and shiny, shiny stars.

Tonight the moon is out. But last night, the shooting stars were dancing. Almost magical like pixie dust in the air.

Last night, around midnight, as we were traveling through Halley’s Comet we walked outside to see the show light up the sky.

I always find it hard to focus on one area of the sky and WAIT to see a light streak across the black night. I want to look all around, eyes darting, fearful I will miss one of the bright shooting stars. But last night I saw one.

I saw one shooting star but that wasn’t what mesmerized my eyes. There was a portion of the sky lit up, dancing, as if a whole bunch of stars were having a party. I imagine it was part of Halley’s Comet getting ready to explode, having the last hurrah before burning up.

Or maybe I was just seeing things.
Who knows? I only saw what I saw. And I think that’s the magic of the cosmos.
Blissful, starry night.

More tomorrow.

{starry night?}
