JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY :: 59 blooming

29 Feb

Day 59. Changing Seasons.

The sun came out today. And our flowers are a’ blooming.

This pretty little yellow thing reminds me to be open even when it is raining. To be strong even in the wind. And to bloom, bloom, bloom, even if the world around us says it’s way too soon.

Here’s to blooming.
Bloom. Bloom. Bloom.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

P.S.. Yoga done!

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 58 :: yoga in bed

28 Feb

Day 58. oh….

It’s Day 2 of Yoga In Bed for me…. A.K.A. Stomach Bug The Redux.
With so many options of yoga poses to do I’m glad there are those that 1) help digestion and 2) increase relaxation.

And so… I’m off to bed… for yoga nd rest.
Most important I’m happy that I am still showing up for this yoga promise. That’s the most important piece… showing up. And now… going to sleep.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 57 :: a lady in waiting

27 Feb

Day 57. Oh burger, oh boy.

I’m writing this blog post from the bathroom. Just in case…. I am a blogger in waiting. Waiting for tonight’s dinner of tex-mex burger to pass without full-on flu-like symptoms. (I hope.)

Waiting sucks. It’s always the hardest part. Whether it is a test result or a tryout. Waiting… waiting….waiting is a drain. But tonight the bathroom does seem like the most reflective place to write a post while waiting.

Because there is so much waiting that happens in a bathroom.

I have waited for things to pass and things to come in a bathroom. I have waited for eyes to dry and tears to stop falling in a bathroom. I have waited for my sister to let me in and I have waited for the perfect moment to let myself out of a bathroom. I have waited for my hair to dry, the stink to subside, the sink to drain.

I have waited for someone to bring me a new roll of toilet paper while sitting, waiting, dripping …and pleading at the top of my lungs.

As a child, I once waited for my mother to pick up the phone at her office, as I bounced up and down in the bathroom waiting for her advice about how to unlock the belt that clasp around my waist that with every pull became tighter.

I have also waited for the hot, soapy water to absorb into every cell of my body washing away the rest of the world so I could emerge anew and renewed.

So many things I have waited for in a bathroom…but this may be the first blog post I have waited to post from a bathroom.

I guess there is a first time for everything.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

So here’s my moment… and in its own way it is perfect.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 55 :: expanding within

25 Feb

Day 55. Stretch.

Tonight’s yoga was a little post-workout routine – or post-tennis for us. That’s because the sun came out and we are learning that when the sun comes out everyone rushes outside up here in the Great Northwest.

For us, today, that rush was tennis. And then a little yoga.

And I have to say, I think that is what I am learning… a little bit goes a long way. My daily yoga may not be intense but it’s building. It’s happening. I’m showing up.

And my muscles are stronger. Both the ones you can see — and the ones you cannot. Some muscles take resistance workouts to build up mass — others take conditioning: the muscles of hope, grace, joy, courage, forgiveness, love.

Every day adds up.
You are what you eat.
You become what you stretch.
You do what you do.
You are what you think.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 53 :: beautiful empty

23 Feb

Day 53. Vast.

There are days when I come to this blog feeling empty. And, really, it’s a beautiful thing. Beautifully empty. No pressure of words that need to come spilling out. No thoughts that have been collecting and building up steam ready to burst forth.

It is beautiful in its own way, really. Just being. Beholding. Be Hold. Just be.

So instead of too many words, tonight, I will share something that is about to burst. A flower. In front of my office window.

Be. Hold.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

P.S. Yoga done!

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 52 :: yoga posing

22 Feb

Day 52. Bliss Blast

Tonight we did a little Bliss Blast on Yogaglo. It was quick, fun and fast…. and didn’t (did not, I promise) look like this:

But, I think I may start making up yoga names for all of my “other” daily poses. (For what it’s worth I have already perfected downward facing cake.)

What’s your yoga pose?

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 51 :: two is better than one

21 Feb

Day 51. Sunday Funday.

Just a little puppy love for you tonight:

The video is adorable. Which is exactly what a Sunday night calls for.

We spent time with family today, which is always ooey, gooey, Sunday, Funday fun. Yoga is up next.

But before I downward dog, I am deeply thinking….of all the good we can create in our life, isn’t it more fun to create together? Collaborating. Cooperation. Co-creation. Whether it is with our new puppy, our little nieces or whomever else we share time with…

Two is better than one.
Namaste Sunday!

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 50 :: crazy good

20 Feb

Day 50. Crazy Kids.

This was sitting on our dinner table tonight:

Thanks to Table Topics at The Filling Station we were presented with this question:

“What was the craziest thing you ever did when you were a kid?”

Ah, good question. My mind raced.

Sticking my finger in an open light socket (that was a shocking one)….Picking all of my mother’s newly planted flowers because we thought they were weeds (I still blame my older sister)…

Then Justin reminded me…Falling into the Snake River because my long legs missed the jump and hit the water instead. (Thank you, Justin, for saving me).

It’s a miracle we make it to adulthood, isn’t it? Maybe that’s what makes life so crazy good.

Now, I must finish digesting the World Largest Hamburger before doing my yoga. Until then…

…What’s the craziest thing you ever did when you were a kid?

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
