JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 117 :: dream a little dream…

30 Apr

Of Kindness.

It’s raining. And I’m finding myself dreaming of sun. Then I paused and reminded myself that maybe I should appreciate the rain.  Maybe that would be the KIND thing to do. The intentionally kind thing to do.

So hello wet, rainy, Chicago!

I will be more kind to you. You look beautiful when you’re wet!

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 115 :: 4-letter word friday

28 Apr

zeee.

Does this count?  Zeee?!  Because this Friday is making me feel really for bed. I am snuggled up in PJ’s and robe sitting here thinking about going to bed, sweet, bed.

Sometimes, that is the best part of a Friday.
Starting the weekend.

Sounds kind to me!

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 114 :: on kindness and believing

27 Apr

Heart.

The NFL draft started tonight, and with it, Justin sent me this:

It’s a good reminder, that no matter what others believe you have to believe in yourself. Isn’t that the kindest thing you could ever do?

Whether picked first.
Last.
Or not at all.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 113 :: on kindness and goals

26 Apr

Stepping back.

A theme for me this week is stepping back. Stepping back to move forward.

It’s kind of ironic for me, someone who likes to PUSH PUSH PUSH to get to the finish line. Stepping back doesn’t always feel good. It feels like wasted energy. It feels like giving up. It feels so incredibly ssssssslllllloooooooowwwww.

And yet, I’m learning, it can be so fast.

Today, I practiced stepping back. For a brief second. A millisecond. And what I found was this:

  • I relaxed
  • The world didn’t stop
  • I breathed
  • I had more energy to push forward

Aha! And there’s the golden nugget. More energy.
To move forward.

May you move forward with kindness.
And energy.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 111 :: miracle monday

24 Apr

Kindness.

Today I start a new series. Miracle Mondays. Because I’m starting to notice miracles. And what better day than Monday to look for them.

Today’s miracle was a raccoon. Spotted outside my window. I have never seen a raccoon in the daylight. Actually, I’m not sure I have ever seen a raccoon in person in the “wild.”

So this, is my Miracle Monday:

May you find miracles in your Monday.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 110 :: kindly dreaming

23 Apr

Fashion.

I spent yesterday afternoon dreaming about fashion, fabric, cut and color. Mostly as an Assistant to our little niece. She was the brainchild behind these fashion visions:

I was her loyal assistant. And, I have to say, in the name of kindness, sometimes the most KIND thing to do is to help someone else flourish — or at least dream.

May you flourish this week.
And dream.

Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 108 :: 4-letter word friday

21 Apr

Shine.

As in, the sun was OUT today.

As I was driving through town I couldn’t stop hearing a dog bark. No matter where I turned I heard a dog barking. I thought I was hearing things until I looked up at the car in front of me and saw this:

If you look closely you can see the dog’s head poking out of the sunroof.

The pup was excited to be out or a drive, or excited to be on his way to the dog park, or praising the lord that the SUN was finally OUT.  Maybe all of the above.

No matter the reason, it was a glorious sight.
And a good reminder.

We all seem to feel even more alive when the sun is shining. What a kind way of looking at the world. Thanks puppy!

Happy weekend.
Shine on.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 107 :: blanking kindness

20 Apr

Writing the future.

I’m reading a new book – or, rather listening to one on Audible. It’s called The Three Laws of Performance.

You can listen to an audio sample here.

In it, a concept is shared called, “blanking the canvas.” And I like it. It’s all about needing to wipe the slate clean in order to create a new future. Or, possibly better said, in order to create a new future you need to wipe out the past – or at least come to terms with it, releasing yourself from it.

By doing this, you create space. Space to write a new future.

And that has me thinking about my promise of kindness. Maybe, just maybe, to create a future of kindness we have to come to terms with the unkindness of the past.

And maybe, by being honest about the past, forgiving it, settling it, moving on from it, we can all move into a future written on the pages of kindness.

Here’s to writing the future.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie
