Dinner.
Tonight Justin rushed me out the door. I thought it was pretty rude actually since I was trying to finish up a phone call. But he insisted. So I hung up abruptly and hopped into the car next to him.
Then he handed me a Bonzai Tree – the tree of life, and surprised me with our three-week wedding anniversary celebration dinner. It was all planned because I won’t be here on our first month anniversary next week. How sweet. How thoughtful. How kind.
We dined next to the docks and the bay at Anthony’s on the wharf. But all I could see were the flowers. Brilliant, beautiful, bold flowers waving at us in the wind as we sipped and ate our four-course meal.
It all reminded me that everything is in living color when you take the time to appreciate what it is you have. For me, it was the kindness of a meal, one that commemorates our three weeks together as officially married.
But, what it really showed me was this: the kindness of every little detail.
And I should know by now that this guy likes surprises!
