Choosing Kindness.
There are days when I feel like I have all the answers. And then, there are days, like today, when I feel that I know nothing at all. In this year of intentional acts of kindness, I am reminded that sometimes we don’t have the answers or control.
But we always have a choice.
And there is a moment that occurs, in the middle of chaos, in the middle of a broken heart, in the middle of loss and losing where all we have left is a choice. Our choice.
Kindness has taught me this:
That choice is our responsibility — it’s how we react and respond. The more space we build between that moment of terror, and how we answer the call, is the place where we find peace in our hearts.
And kindness.
While our hearts reel and our minds cope with the reality of the world we live in today, I do know this, in the words that Tom Petty gave us: the waiting is the hardest part.
