I had a great conversation with my neighbor, Carol, today. She’s in her 80’s and you never would know it. You might think she was in her 70’s, maybe, by her laugh and her quick wit.
I thought she would be the perfect person to ask about JOY — and, specifically, what brings her joy… This is what she said:
What is joy?
“Joy is not reading your name in the obituaries. Any day is a good day when you wake up and don’t see your name in the obits.”
Then she laughed out loud with that joyful laugh of hers.
So, there you have it! Needless to say, my neighbor brought me much joy today.
