There is not much more I can say about joy than this:
Pup turned 17-years-old today. Seventeen!
It’s hard to remember life before Pup around here. From his humble beginnings in a box by the side of the road to being rescued by Justin and brought on our treks across this country and back again. From living on an island to the edge of the gulf, he has survived hurricanes and skunks (not in that order) and paralysis from a slipped disk. He even forgave us (eventually) for bringing home a big ball of energy named Brady.
Pup has come a long way. He is the king of our jungle. Top dog in our book.
Even as he slows down he maintains his crown. What joy it is to watch him age with grace and a few accidents in between. I suppose that’s the joy of life playing out right before our eyes. When we are young we can jump over fences and bound through trees. But when we are old we can walk slowly and gracefully amongst giants.
Pup will always be larger than life in ours. And today we celebrate seventeen good years.
Joy truly is a good life with a good dog.
More tomorrow…
Lovemore,
Jamie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUP!! Lizette
I saw it was Pup’s birthday on Facebook and I wasn’t sure he was still around so didn’t comment. How blessed you are to still have him! We also had our last dog, Brownie, for over 27 years! We called her the Queen of Canines! Pup is truly a King!
