Last night was spa night…. tonight is feng shui night. My friend Amy flew up to Boston just to help me measure, feng shui, and plan furnishings for our new little townhouse. I love the concept of feng shui:
As Google says: (in Chinese thought) a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy (qi), and whose favorable or unfavorable effects are taken into account when siting and designing buildings.
I find it very joyful to plan and measure before furnishing and placing. But Amy is taking it to the next level, measuring every inch and creating a to-scale map. I’m more than impressed. I would have just walked off the space with my size ten feet and left the rest to chance. She is measuring and calculating and drawing a scale map. She’s precise and passionate about it.
There is joy in that.
And there is joy in this: Everything has a place and there is a place for everything.
With purpose, passion and intention.
