I finally have a new bed! It’s been a few weeks in the making. While it arrived on Wednesday it has been sitting in a box all week. Mostly because it was too heavy for me to lug up the stairs. But I found a new joyful solution… Thumbtack!
Sometimes joy is figuring out things yourself and doing things all by yourself. It’s a feeling of great accomplishment to say… I. Did. It! And other times, like today, an even greater joy is hiring someone else who does the job faster, easier and way better than you could ever imagine.
Where I could barely push the big mattress in a box inside my front door, my Thumbtack service provider carried it up the stairs with one hand (practically). While I made a phone call, he unpacked, assembled, and put together all the pieces effortlessly.
I find great joy in ordering furniture online and having it delivered to my door (thank you Amazon!).
But I find even greater joy in hiring others to do what they do best, better than me to say the least.
Maybe the best joy will be a good night’s sleep on a brand new bed.
