We have candy! Happy Halloween.
We didn’t have any trick or treaters show up but we do have a bucket full of candy. So tonight, joy is eating it while we watch Halloween inspired movies.

It’s the night before Halloween… and the Red Sox Parade in Boston. What a doubleheader celebration for New England.
According to folklore, on Halloween, the spirits of all who died in the prior year, would rise up and roam the earth on this night. So it seems fitting that everyone in Boston will rise up tomorrow and celebrate all things spooky and celebratory.
The night before is always the most joyous… the dreaming, the planning, the anticipation of what is to come.
Joy is the night before… all the fun!

I had a mandatory floating holiday today. It was a “use it or lose it” kind of day so of course, I used it and slept in. Late. It felt like lavish luxury. I find so much joy from sleeping in, staying under the covers on a cold morning and dreaming late into the morning.
What a fabulous way to start a Monday and a great way to start the week. Especially after so many late nights watching baseball.
Joy is dreaming and sleeping in. Here’s to sweet dreams!

Oh, joy! The Red Sox are World Series Champs! And it feels so good.
The best part of winning is not losing. It’s so joyful to win when you know what it feels like to lose. So here’s to the World Champion Red Sox!
I remember when they couldn’t win a game. I remember when they were on the losing end of the stick…. for decades. And, I remember the thrill and the joy of breaking the curse and reclaiming their status as winners.
I felt that same thrill again tonight. It must be the joy reflex.
Joy is remembering where you came from, celebrating what you’ve accomplished, and always looking forward to next time.

It’s cool. It’s crisp. It’s October.
And now it feels like October… officially. There is a crisp wind in the air and the leaves are beginning to fall. I had to start the car this morning and let it warm up before heading to work. All the tell-tell signs that fall is carrying us into winter soon enough.
But for now, I will celebrate the joy of October. Pumpkin spiced lattes. Halloween costumes. And cool, crisp mornings with colorful leaves lining the sidewalks.
Joy is not just what you see but what you look for.
