We took a joyride today to our old neighborhood in Scituate. It was a beautiful day to be near the water (even though we are bracing for snow tonight!). The sun was out. The wind was calm. The waves were smoothly hitting the shore.
As we drove the familiar streets, I was reminded of that terrible storm we weathered years ago. The houses have all been rebuilt, the roads are clear, it is as if a storm had never hit.
It all reminded me of trust. How we must be like the boat floating on the ocean. Taking the waves up and down and knowing that there will be sunshine after the storm.
Now, I must go get my snow boots ready for tomorrow…
