JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 171 :: be bold

20 Jun

{trust}

We drove by the old Scituate beach house today and ate harborside for dinner in one of our old haunts. While looking out over the ocean I was struck with the audacity and what a bold move it was for us to move so close to the coast and live on top of pylons overlooking the waves of the ocean.

It has been years ago now, and many moves later we find ourselves two towns over from that past oceanside adventure. It was the place that changed the trajectory of our lives, surviving winter on the ocean and few big storms by evacuating inland.

After that adventure, we would have many more in our future including moving across the country and then back again. But the beginning of all our adventures was making a bold move to the Vineyard together.

Tonight as I reflected on that water view in front of me that was the view of my past, I thought about the power of making bold moves.

Being bold leads to brilliant adventures but first, you have to trust.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 170 :: trust the memories

19 Jun

{trust}

The best part of seeing family is sharing memories and laughter. Since we have family in town and are preparing for a wedding weekend this thought is sitting so sweetly on my heart. Love and trust.

The best memories are the ones made with love & trust.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 169 :: trust your dreams

18 Jun

{trust}

I receive notes from time to time from people who see this blog. Many times I hear that what I posted is exactly what they needed to hear, or the nudge they needed, or the confirmation they were waiting for. Every time this happens I am honored and it confirms for me why I share these promises with the world.

Believe me, there are many days where I hear nothing from anyone too! Those days pile up and at times I wonder how long I will keep this going. But then someone emails me, or sends a message through Facebook or direct messages me and say, “Thank you.”

It’s those days when I am reminded that we are all connected. We are all moving through this world at warp speed together. So, on this day, I trust that someone needs to hear this message:

Bloom and never look back. Trust your big dreams.
If you don’t have your dreams, what do you have?

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 168 :: trust the sun

17 Jun

{trust}

The weather forecast calls for rain this week but I am concentrating on the sun. We have a wedding to attend this weekend and we just put little porch lights out on the deck so I have decided to will summer’s presence. Rain or shine.

Maybe trust is more will than patience? Regardless I think it’s best to be the sun in the summer. OR at least trust that it will show up!

I think that statement applies to many aspects of life. Maybe that’s why we all talk about the weather so much…

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 166 :: trust and lemons

15 Jun

{trust}

We had a little date night tonight and a flashback to a date night from nine years ago watching The Lemonheads on the Vineyard. Tonight we were in Boston at Paradise Rock Club instead of in the middle of an island but the music was just as fun.

It came with a lesson in trust too. As the concert started the guy next to us took a photo of the set list that was taped to the stage floor. We looked it over and I scanned it for the one song that I wanted to hear, Outdoor Type. It wasn’t there which was a bit disappointing.

I turned to Justin and frowned, “Well, I guess they won’t be playing it tonight.”

He replied, “You never know, he might play it during the solo portion. They don’t need a set list for the solos. Keep the faith.”

I wrinkled my nose and said, “You mean trust?”

It has become an inside joke around here just as much as it is my theme of the year. Turns out I had nothing to worry about because Evan Dando did play Outdoor Type (during the solo portion) and I recorded it on my phone (along with 200 other people).

This might just be a story about a song on a date night, in the middle of Paradise, but the point is, sometimes I give up too soon instead of waiting and trusting and believing.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 165 :: trust you have what you need

14 Jun

{trust}

Tonight’s thought on trust… from a very sleepy brain…

Trust that you already have what you need, the world is big enough for all the dreams. As big as the deep blue ocean and endless blue sky.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 163 :: oh, sports

12 Jun

{trust}

It’s another sports night over here in Boston. This time it is on the ice and the treadmill. It was an OrangeTheory night for us and it’s a Game 7 night for Boston and St. Louis at The Garden.

While the local hockey players were gearing up for a historic game, I was sweating it out at a push pace trying to make it uphill on the treadmill. And now, it seems, the Bruins are in an uphill battle too – the home team is currently behind 0-2. Not for lack of trying and having way more shots on goal than the team that is ahead.

It all has me thinking about showing up and not giving up. You have to trust the path you are on and not give up, even when it seems that you are in an uphill climb.

We’ll see how this game ends up. In the meantime, trust you can walk the path and stay in the game.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 162 :: trust this moment

11 Jun

{trust}

Trust is an amazing teacher, I am learning day by day. Today, I am reminded to trust this moment, to fully live in it, to fully hold space for it and watch the magic that will unfold.

What was magical in your day?
Can you hold trust long enough to see it show up?
Try it!
Trust me.

More tomorrow.
