There are 5 days left of The Promise 365.
Tonight I am sitting around the fire with my husband and his extended family, feeling the full effects of being present… from the Christmas tree to the photo books, to the shared memories and the shared laughter.
When I was younger my favorite book was called The Precious Present. It was a fable about learning to live in the present moment, and how valuable that precious moment is, more valuable than all the riches of the world. I wrote about my personal story of this book on Day 160 of my first year of blogging, in a blog post called Your First Suit.

The ironic thing about this blog is that it has forced me to be present to each and every day. For nine years. This blog has been about a promise but it has become so very precious. It has counted the days and the stories and the moments of life. A life lived with family and friends and people I love. If nothing else, it has captured the art of being present.
Trust me when I say, we have nothing but the present. Treat it as precious.
Trust me!
More tomorrow.Jamie
