Today’s connection is dedicated to Courtney.

Our husband’s are cousins and are related by blood but Courtney feels more like a sister to me.We spoke today over the phone and it felt so good to hear Courtney’s voice.
I haven’t seen Courtney in almost two years. It doesn’t seem possible that it could be that long, but in the face of COVID and all that transpired over the past 24 months, it really has been too long.
Courtney has been by my side through many of life’s great moments and adventures. Including our wedding where she made my hair somehow look like worthy of being a bride.

We have rafted the Grand Canyon together, hiked mountains, and spent a week on a houseboat on Lake Powell too — every time I am with Courtney it feels like an adventure — even if it’s just talking and catching up.

She has a heart of gold and an infectious laugh but more than that, she is the best kind of human. One who is a friend for life.
It is nights like these make me think that maybe we will look back over “the COVID years” and realize as much as it split us all apart, it also brought us back to what matters most.
Our hearts are connected through moments and memories — and that can never be taken away.
Love you Court – so very good to catch up on what matters most.
More tomorrow,
Jamie
