JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 91 :: the flowers are coming

4 Apr

Spring.

It’s my favorite time of year. Flower blooming season. And… the tulips are here! (At least at the grocery store).

I think this might be Mother Nature’s kindest and prettiest act of intentional kindness.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 90 :: have you been kind today

3 Apr

Questions.

I ran across this quote today and it seems most appropriate for this promise and this year of kindness.

Have you been kind today?

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

Spring.

The season is changing. The flowers are blooming. And tonight, before this week bursts onto the scene… just one more thought:

More tomorrow….

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 88 :: cookie kindness

1 Apr

Too Much?

Tonight a friend of mine asked on Facebook, “How much cheese is too much cheese?” And that makes me ask…

“How much chocolate chip cookie is too much chocolate chip cookie?”
There may not be an answer to this elusive question of the ages.

Tonight I did make chocolate chip cookies – only after accidentally putting in too much butter, then running to the store to buy another package of cookie mix in order to make up for my kitchen snafu. (All during the final minutes of the Oregon NCAA game – booo hooo, they lost.)

But, I know that it feels very KIND when I have the opportunity to bite into a warm, chocolate chip cookie. Even better when I can share one (or ten) with a friend.

In the words of Cookie Monster:

Life is short. Be kind and eat cookies.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 87 :: 4-letter word friday

31 Mar

ITTY.

As in, what a game.

Tonight we watched the overtime UConn vs. Mississippi State women’s basketball game. It was amazing. Maybe the best in women’s NCAA history with a buzzer beater basket to break UConn’s 111 game winning streak.

Mississippi State is going to the Final Dance Championship GAME. And they deserve it. After losing by 60 points to UConn last year (yes, 60 points!) Mississippi State returned for redemption. Or at least a chance.

And they took it. With one little ITTY-bitty point guard in Morgan William as the final game seconds ticked away. The littlest one on the court scored the biggest goal. And around the anniversary of her father’s death who always told her she could play Division 1 basketball despite her height. And she did.

Sometimes little is big.
And sometimes history is KIND.

Happy Friday.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 86 :: kindness rules

30 Mar

Back to School Cool.

I’m taking a page from my friend Bren’s playbook tonight:  Kindness Rules.

Bren is an artist and inspiration. He develops and paints murals (along with many other inspiring projects!) and I LOVE his latest work of art:

Even kids in school know that kindness rules. If only we could all remember and hold it dear as we grow up. Thanks for the reminder Bren. All the little kids and big kids can use a gentle nudge.

And that brings me to this:
Sometimes, I think I knew more when I was a child.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 85 :: rainy sun

29 Mar

Flowers.

The sun will come out tomorrow! Man… it feels like it’s been a long winter. And today with the rain falling outside my window, I cannot help but think it is really not quite Spring yet.

Then, miraculously, the sun came out. Late in the day. Just to peek in and show its face. And that has me thinking that sunshine is kindness. Just as is the rain.

The kind of kindness that takes two to makes the flowers bloom, the raindrops dry, and the grass green.

Welcome Spring. You are one wet mess!
And I kind of like it.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 84 :: kindness of words

28 Mar

Wordy.

Last week I lost my voice. And this week I have found words. As in Kindness. Kind words.

It has occurred to me that words are not just power. They are powerful. Healing. Helping. Hoping sorts of power. A kind power.

Kind words live longer.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 83 :: monday

27 Mar

Kindness.

I sit here wondering where the kindness in Monday is…

Possibly, it is the beginning of something new.
Or the continuation of something old.
Both seem to be something of a kind nature.

But mostly, on Mondays, I feel that Tuesday is the best part.
The kindest part of Monday might be just surviving it!

Which brings me to this:

Be kind even to mean Mondays.
Happy Monday.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

{Hello Tuesday!}

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 82 :: resting

26 Mar

Kindness.

I can’t remember the last time I spent two straight days in bed. It’s been awhile.

There is so much kindness in resting. Resting kindness. In our go-go-go hurry up I want it yesterday world, there is something quite beautiful about being so tired and sick you can’t get out of bed.

It’s all in the resting.
The quiet kindness of rejuvenation.

And the good news is that I feel better. The results will be tomorrow, in the form of a question. Can I be so kind that I don’t push myself back to the sick zone?

But now, I rest.
Sweet dreams.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie
