Oh boy, 2014, have you been a doozie! For a year of making a peak performance promise you certainly had a few surprises up your sleeve for me.
Let’s start with Perspective.
It’s fascinating isn’t it? How everything makes sense when you look back, reflect and take in where you have been. This post officially marks four years of posting, four years of blogging every single day.
One Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty One Blog Posts.
(In my head I’m singing that to the RENT song, five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes).
So here’s the year in review… in photos!
2014 started with joining a Gym!
And then celebrating my Thyroidless friends!
Then turning 40! (BEST. SURPRISE. PARTY. EVER!)
And then, Pup turned 13. Thirteen!
And then a new commitment to FOCUSING on BEAUTY, as I learned to enjoy simple beauty and pause right now (ESBPRN) to literally smell the roses:
And then, another surprise…. and another surprise surgery.
And then, a beach recovery with my own personal nurse and a lot of love:
And then a summer preparing for implants:
And then, a new commitment to Peak Performance… this time with Pilates:
And then, some amazing life-long friends reunited:
And then, some amazing work with some amazing women:
And then, an amazing get-on-with-your-life gift from Kim:
Where I practically coughed on Miss O:
After which, Justin and I saw another Peak Performance by Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell:
Followed by a Peak Performance by Mother Nature: (simple beauty!)
And then a peak performance from the garden which Justin turned into his signature salsa recipe:
And then, a personal peak performance — I FINALLY painted my table: (Brady approved)
And then, in one of the most important moments of the year, I said hello again to my Great Aunt B and my large extended family, as we all said goodbye to my dear Aunt Denita.
And other family members too… like this one, Mr. Gibbs:
All in all, after a year of pursuing Peak Performance I am convinced of one thing and one thing only: to reach peak performance we need each other.
We will get through this and anything else life throws our way together.
It’s not just a note on top of my coffee cup. It’s the truth. We need each other. And I could not have made it this far without family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, coaches, medicine women, personal nurses, amazing doctors, patient pilates trainers, sisters, aunts, brothers, some amazingly loving dogs and YOU.
Let’s face it. Peak performance takes a village.
So this marks the moment in time where we all ask the question: What’s Next?
And that’s what I find so amazing about The New Year. It’s like a master reset button. Sort of like a new school year, when I amassed a brand new wardrobe and reimagined who I would be, what classes I would take, what friends I would make… it’s kind of the unofficial adult do-over.
But there are some things that I do not want to do over. For instance: no more surgeries. But, I have to say, in the most ironic twists of fate ….my surgical incisions left me with two distinct scars. I now have two “swooshes” on my breasts, up and around my nipples. Seriously. It looks like NIKE branding right across my chest. How Peak Performance is that??
But alas…. let’s leave that in the past.
It’s time to DO SOMETHING!
On to 2015! I will share my official, NEW promise for 2015 tomorrow.
Can’t wait! See you on the other side. Until then, enjoy simple beauty pause right now.
MUCH LOVE FROM ME TO YOU.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
