JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 214 :: 4-letter word friday

25 Aug

LOVE.

It’s Friday. And for some reason I find myself watching the news. Floods, hurricanes, hate crimes, fighting. Not a good strategy for looking for kindness.

Which leads me back to the 4-letter L word – love.
Love and kindness go together, hand in hand.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love. For love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
~Nelson Mandela

Tuning the news out.
Tuning into something more beautiful and kind.
What would happen if we all tuned into to a kinder vibe?

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 157 4-letter friday

Flow.

As in flower.

I passed this flower stand on my way home today. Situated at the corner of the path through the park it caught my eye. Just one vase of red flowers left.

And a note.

I love the idea of a flower stand and the idea of trust.
Trusting that people will pay for their flowers and pay it forward so that there may be more flowers.

Keeping it in the flow.
How kind.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

Card.

There is something very powerful about cards – as in Canasta. Only because of this: family. Whatever it is that brings family together is special. Tonight, it happened to be cards. Tomorrow, it might be something else.

Whatever it is, it is special.
So…. thank you cards.
Happy Friday.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 87 :: 4-letter word friday

31 Mar

ITTY.

As in, what a game.

Tonight we watched the overtime UConn vs. Mississippi State women’s basketball game. It was amazing. Maybe the best in women’s NCAA history with a buzzer beater basket to break UConn’s 111 game winning streak.

Mississippi State is going to the Final Dance Championship GAME. And they deserve it. After losing by 60 points to UConn last year (yes, 60 points!) Mississippi State returned for redemption. Or at least a chance.

And they took it. With one little ITTY-bitty point guard in Morgan William as the final game seconds ticked away. The littlest one on the court scored the biggest goal. And around the anniversary of her father’s death who always told her she could play Division 1 basketball despite her height. And she did.

Sometimes little is big.
And sometimes history is KIND.

Happy Friday.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

Sick.

This week has been one big 4-letter word. As in, SICK. And when I say sick, I mean it in the most sore throat, coughing sense of the word.

If there is something that KINDNESS wants to tell me it is this: take care of yourself.

And…I am one happy camper that it is finally Friday.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

SEEN.

As part of my Intentional Act of Kindness today, I realize that what we all want is to be seen. Which brings me to today’s 4-letter Word Friday:

Today is dedicated to: Seen.
As in see. To be seen.

How are you seen? How are seeing? How are you seeing others?
Powerful questions at the root and the core of what we all desire.

Thank you for being here. I see you.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
