JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 42 :: fffffriday

11 Feb

Day 42. A good thing.

Tomorrow is Friday. And, as my father would say, that’s a good thing.

Here’s another good thing, my favorite artist Bren is back in studio with a few artist tips for making Valentine’s Day Cupids (perfect for kids or Kids-At-Heart).

Thanks, Bren!

It reminds me of those old Valentine’s Days of the past. Making crafty love notes and glittery, sticky cards for everyone in school, with a few conversation hearts glued on top. (Which we ATE by the way.)

This day and age, I’m thinking of LOVE in a very different way. And this year, in particular, I’m thinking of some yoga stretching, mind-bending love notes….to myself. Self-love. Seems to be one of the lessons trying to stick with me this year. As if my body is whispering…

Take care of yourself.
Take care of yourself.
Take care of yourself.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 345 :: bliss and star wars

15 Dec

Today’s bliss…the blank side.

It’s really quite amazing, this Star Wars phenomenon. It’s everywhere. Every. Where. And, as Friday gears up to be the single biggest movie of all time first day release EVER, well, I just can’t get enough of the hype.

Including this from my friend and the amazing artist Bren Bataclan.

In this episode you learn how to draw an alien spacecraft in less than a few minutes. But the best lesson of all might be from Bren’s own words:

“Your imagination is the most important tool.”

When it comes to art and life, imagination leads the way. Thanks for the blissful reminder Bren (and Beanie!). Even Walt Disney and his Imagineers knew that. Ironically, Disney now owns the Star Wars franchise.

Which brings me to one of my favorite quotes:

If you can dream it, you can do it.
-Walt Disney

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
