JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 79 :: hold on

22 Mar
{to your joy}

There was a little more bad news today in the world. Reports. Updates. News Flash. Maybe some fake news, I don’t know. Really, it’s hard to tell the difference sometimes.

But, I do know this: it takes more courage to hold onto your joy than to let bad news take it away from you.

It may be the most courageous act we ever make.
Hold onto your joy.

More tomorrow…

BLOG – GIFT DAY 163 :: why sometimes a bad thing isn’t a bad thing

12 Jun

Ironically, I am sitting in a coffee shop listening to “Coffee Shop Radio” on Pandora.
I’m not listening to the music being piped over the speakers INSIDE the coffee shop I am sitting in, rather I have ear buds stuck in my ears and am listening to Pandora.Ironic? Silly? Who knows…I am at this coffee shop AGAIN for the internet service. Our internet was SUPPOSED to be set up yesterday. But there was a little SNAFU.That snafu got the best of me (it’s pretty fair to say that it pissed me off). I was upset. It was not in my plans to wait another two days for internet service.So this morning, I schlepped back to the internet cafe and set up shop again.

But this time, it was different.

As I hunched over my computer in a window seat I spotted a

Weimaraner outside the door sitting with a couple. The doggie was beautiful! And, looks like a grey version of our doggies.

So, of course I jumped out of my seat and went outside to introduce myself and pet the dog. Her name is Athena.

I am possessed of late. Something about moving to a new town has made me introduce myself to everyone I meet — including the dogs!

I couldn’t help myself.
And I’m so glad.

The couple I met is so wonderful, nice, kind, and welcoming. They felt like fast friends (and already invited us to an event!).

It’s as if I was supposed to be here in this coffee shop for one more day sucking up an internet connection while I wait for 21st century technology to be installed in our 1950’s house.

If I wasn’t here today I wouldn’t have met Athena and her people.

Just another reminder that when things happen (or DON’T happen) it might be just the right thing.

Or, it could be a better plan.

More tomorrow.
