JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 161 :: trust, love and big papi

10 Jun

{trust}

If there is one thing about returning to Boston this year, it is for the love of sports. We are sitting on the edge of our seats for the Red Sox tonight. As the game goes into extra innings we are going into extra prayers for the biggest of them all, Big Papi.

Just last week we wore our Big Papi jerseys to the game. Even though he hasn’t played for years now, we still hold a space in our hearts for the man, the myth, the legend, Number 34. And now, we pray for his speedy recovery.

It seems Big Papi is also on his way back to Boston, this time for medical care. In this surreal moment of life there are so many prayers and love in the world for this Boston hero, and I am holding onto TRUST that all will be well.

All sports are built on love, trust, and prayers, especially in key game moments. This seems to be one of them. You got this, Big Papi!

Trust me.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 206 :: waving goodbye to big papi

2 Aug

Day 206: yoga.

Tonight just one thought as it’s LATE (but the Red Sox won):
Does doing the wave inside a baseball stadium count as yoga?

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 134 :: happy being

15 May

Day 134: Happy.

How lovely to spend the day with family. Celebrating on the bay. Honoring Pup and Brady’s Big Papi with some Red Sox love. Tickets that is. For August. In Seattle. All for David Ortiz and our love of Boston.

And Justin, of course. The Birthday Boy.

It’s just one of the many things I love most about this guy. He is royally loyal. He loves what he loves, deeply and more enthusiastically than anyone else in the world. The Patriots. The Red Sox. Pearl Jam. His Family. Pup. Brady. And me. Probably not in that order.

But regardless of who comes first on that short list of deep affection, I feel so blessed to be on that list. It’s a gift to be loved so unconditionally and fully by another human being. Quite possibly the best gift of all.

I hope, dear Justin, you feel that gift coming back your way from everyone on the list. I can speak for most people anyway, when I say, we love you. As far as Eddie Vedder and Tom Brady go, well… you might have to ask them directly. And Big Papi, you’ll see him in August.

Birthdays are beautiful things, really. How wonderful to have a day to celebrate being here. Just being. Ah… and that’s the yoga talking.

Happy being day.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

BLOG – GIFT DAY 303 :: world champs

30 Oct

In keeping with my promise to seek abundance this year, here’s my Abundance Photo of the Day... the Red Sox celebrating their World Series win on my TV.

I just have two words to say:

Boston. Strong.

And that’s enough abundance for me.

More tomorrow.

BLOG – GIFT DAY 286 :: red sox nation

13 Oct

In keeping with my promise to seek abundance, here’s my Abundance Photo of the Day… the Red Sox on TV.

We don’t often see Boston sports televised on basic cable over here on the “other” coast so this is a moment to be celebrated.

When I first moved to Boston I was overwhelmed by the Red Sox hubbub. Within my first week living in the Commonwealth I announced, “I am not getting involved with that.”

That being Red Sox Nation.
I thought it was ridiculous. And loud. And obnoxious.

You know how this story ends. Within a few weeks I was wearing red and screaming “Yankees Suck” at the top of my lungs.

Boston has that sort of power over you. You’re either for it or against it.  Home team or away.  Passionate all the way through.

So I can’t think of a better photo of abundance than one that shows the resilience of Beantown and this Red Sox team.

Playing baseball in October.

Now that’s abundance if you ask me.
Boston Strong.

More tomorrow.
