There are 20 days left of The Promise 365! 

Sometimes the most simple things are the most powerful. I have learned many lessons over the past nine years, including love, fearlessness, abundance, peak performance, bliss, joy, and kindness. All of them have one thing in common, trust. 

It’s funny to be on this side of making promises. Now, that I know this is my last one (who would have thought trust would be the grand finale?) I am in awe of how they all connect together through the power of trust. 

It takes trust to love. It takes trust to be kind. It takes trust to go after peak performance and to follow your bliss, tap into joy, and live in abundance.

It is the simple power of trusting yourself. And that is simply powerful. 

So here’s to trusting yourself in all that you do.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 139 :: a path of joy

I’m all about promises. I love promises. I keep my promise all year long. And, the best part is I never know where it will take me. It is a path that winds out before me and I can never quite see around the corner. But I can always look back and know exactly where I’ve been.

Life is a lot like that. We see the path we’ve been down so clearly. The secret, it seems, is to have that same amount of clarity for the path ahead. And then follow it.

Maybe that’s why I make so many promises, year after year. It’s like blazing a trail, setting a vision, holding to a dream and then following the path — wherever it takes me, even though I can never see the destination. 

This year, joy is taking me on a ride. Down a path. Into the future!
We’ll see where it goes…

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 361 :: looking ahead at stretch goals

Today’s bliss…a glimpse of the future.

Tonight I stretched. It wasn’t just a few yoga moves here and there, but a real stretch goal for the coming year. 

I usually wait until New Years Day to announce my next promise. But this time, I’m getting a head start. Partly to rev myself up and also to (selfishly) invite you to join me! It’s always more fun when there’s more than one.

So that said. Here’s the promise:
To do yoga every single day for 365 days.

What? Yes. Yoga. Every. Single. Day.
It’s not a crazy promise. It’s not out of line, out of question, out of the realm of reality. But I am out of shape. And it’s time that this body that has survived (beautifully I might add) many surgeries takes on a STRETCH goal.

You see, things are getting tight in the muscular department and a little too soft in some other departments. So it’s time to TAKE ACTION.

Because I believe in writing down goals and I believe in taking action every single day on what is most important I am making this promise. Sometimes the TO DO list is way too long to get anything TA DONE. But I know if I focus on what is most important, it happens, one way or another.

So for 2016, I am focused on loving more and doing more… starting with my physical shape. But I know it will lead to a much bigger, deeper, impactful promise — because it always does. 

So…. who wants to join me??!!!

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 360 :: wrapping up

Today’s bliss…a story for the ages.

Christmas already seems like a week ago. But today was another sort of gift we wrapped up – our official Star Wars movie day. 
 

Just like being a child again, with big eyes watching a big screen, this movie seemed to be the grand finale of the holiday. Much like a family gathering, the movie met us with both new characters and old acquaintances to remember all over again.

And that has me thinking about Stories. The beginning, middle and end that wrap us all together. The stories of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and the hopes for Christmas future. Echoing with the time that we did this, that, and do you remember when? Memories in the making. Ones that speed by way too fast.

Just like the great Story that we saw play out on the big screen today. There were no lulls, no sticking points, no weird plot lines, just pure anticipation, reaction, and glimpses of what might come next but not wanting to get there too soon. Otherwise known as being Present. 

Maybe the best gift of all.

Speaking of being Present, I’m trying to remain focused on the Bliss of this year. But I know all too well a New Year is to arrive all too soon. So, tomorrow, I will share my new Promise. Maybe you too will want to come along too?

Today’s bliss…a real photo.

Sent to me tonight: a heart! In the rain! In the garage! 

I love this photo, not because the rain drops created a heart. And not because the heart is almost practically perfectly shaped (seriously!).

I love it because Jaynane sent this photo my way, knowing I would love it. And being thought of and remembered is always a matter of the heart.
