Day 100: lovemore monday :: commitment

9 Apr

As you know, I entered this year determined to be fearless. But, I don’t want more fear or less in my life.  I want more love.  So I made up a new word, lovemore!   That’s why Lovemore Mondays are here.

Today’s Lovemore Monday is a love story about committment.

As in, 100 Days.

We are officially 100 days into the year.
Did it go fast for you?

Tonight as I look over my goals for the year that I made around New Year’s Eve I am amazed at what has happened and what has not …yet.

What I expected to discover was my depth of fear.
What I found was that I can jump into the water with sharks — as long as I have a strategy of how to get out of the water with sharks!

More than anything, I have discovered that I am really not afraid of much, but I do worry too much.

Starting out this year, I expected to find shopping elation after taking a 365-day break.

What I discovered is that I forgot just how to shop and it’s been overwhelming in many ways. (Good thing I have had the help of Holly Getty!)

And, I have to admit, I expected to find new ways to enjoy and love my body through exercise like running and hot yoga.

Instead, I have discovered something that seems so obvious now — my life-long issue with my blood, from childhood anemia to teenage cancer to adult poor circulation, all of which I am now addressing with acupuncture.

Surprisingly, this means I need to take a break from the intense exercise I love (like hot yoga) and treat myself with a little less strenuous exercise (like tai chi).

So far, I must report I have not fully found the meaning of life and love
…but I am getting closer, really close!

And, there are still 266 days left in this year called 2012.
There is still time.
There is still hope.

And, I will admit, with each chapter I read in my Abraham-Hicks books I feel closer to something that makes the most sense to my heart — and that is, the key to life is really as simple as JOY and FUN.

Joy and fun!
What could be better than that?

So, with the idea of JOY and FUN in my heart, I am unveiling my new commitment.
Lovemore Fearless T-shirts.

What could be a better reminder than wearing a mantra of LOVE?
Here’s the good news …you can have one too!

More on that soon…

Until then, here’s to the next 100 Days.
I’ll be right here with you.

Day 354: are you making a commitment for 2012?

20 Dec

I woke up this morning to walk along the beach and see the sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico.

What woke me up at this early hour? I had a commitment to meet Debbie on the beach to film a portion of our year-end video.

It was so beautiful and serene I wondered, why don’t I do this more often?

The answer is pretty simple of course.  I don’t always have a reason to go, a person to meet, an appointment, a commitment to keep.

And, that is the secret sauce, isn’t it?  Commitment.

Whether it be working out, eating better, taking a break, or taking care of ourselves, sometimes all we need is a little commitment to push us over the “think about it” line and into the “just do it” arena.

Which kind of sums up my year.

With eleven days left (eleven days!!) I can hardly believe this year is almost over.  But, in my heart, I know the work has just begun.  Taking care of my head, heart, body and soul is really a life-long commitment.

It’s easy when the pressure is on, but how will it be when I take this public promise private?

It’s a good question.

That’s why I am officially re-upping The Promise 365 for 2012.  The rules will be different and my promise will change (which I will share with you soon!).

But, here’s what I love best — you can join me.

So, what do you want to do in 2012…
Eat better, do less, laugh more, watch the sunrise?

It’s a good question.
