JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 15 :: snuggly snuggle

15 Jan

{trust}

We are watching the first This Is Us of the year and through a few tears (as always) we are mostly snuggling. And by that, I mean, Brady is mostly snuggling and taking up the couch.

My rule about no dogs on the couch lasted about three months. Somehow Brady has worked his way up to our level, slowly and one paw at a time. But somewhere inside of me I trust that this is how it is supposed to be.

So now, we have a fluffy dog bed on the floor that goes unused and we have super furry snuggles on the couch. Which if we are counting dog years it is totally worth it.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 232 :: joy is a girl and her couch

21 Aug
{comfort & joy}

The new couch arrived today. (Thank you Jordan’s Furniture.) And it brings me so much joy to sit on a couch and lounge with my feet up. Ahhhh….. a new couch! What a great way to experience comfort and joy.

If you ask me, comfort makes JOY that much more joyful.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 223 joy is a new couch

11 Aug
{living room}

On the long list of items for this cross-country move, we have one down! A new couch.  Of course, it won’t be delivered for weeks… but who’s counting? A new couch brings me joy. Just thinking about who will sit there, the conversations we will have, the laughter, the love, all taking place in the living room.

A couch is for the living. And a new couch is for joy!

Here’s to new joy.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

BLOG – GIFT DAY 193 friday flashback :: thank you diane

12 Jul

Today, I continue my CARD CRUSADE.
My little way of saying thank you and spreading some abundance.On this Flashback Friday I am reminded that I began this week without this:

And now we own it…. the boys couldn’t be more thrilled.

Never fear…. we have also acquired this little thrift store find and I can’t wait to show you what I have in store for it…. tomorrow!

Now, back to the Card Crusade.

Yesterday’s card was mailed to a woman who is so special I call her my Fairy Godmother.

She found me at a point in my life when I was lost. Going through a divorce, losing my job, my home, and my wardrobe all in five months!!

She was in her seventies at the time, I in my mid-thirties.  But she felt like one of the girls to me, a long lost friend, a soul sister.

I’ve learned so much from Diane Neal Emmons over these past five years of being her friend.

There’s something very special about having a girlfriend a few decades ahead of you in this thing called life.

There’s something special about having someone who can put things in perspective, someone who can give you hope through wisdom, and a little faith that there is a better life out there waiting for you.

Diane gave me all of these things.
And more.

And you know what…

She was right.
Life only gets better.
You just have to wait for it to change, preferable with a friend, or Fairy Godmother by your side.

Even though I now live on the other side of the country, Diane continues to be by my side. She comments almost every day on this blog, sending a note of love and encouragement.

Thank you for being my friend, Diane, from the bottom of my heart.

Today’s card is going out to someone who is very special to me. She’s been a friend for over twenty-five years.

That’s your hint….

More tomorrow.
Lovemore {fearless}
