JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 309 :: beautiful kindness

5 Nov
{flying away}

The eagle has landed. And, even though It is so hard to say goodbye to my dear, sweet friends, it is so wonderful to have had the adventure in the first place.

I could have spent time in my jammies, playing games, sitting by the pool, walking in the park, shopping in the quaint boutique-lined streets, and gazing at the river and sunny skies (and eating glorious food!) with anyone. But life is better with forever friends — and adventures are too.

As I looked out my window high above the world today on my way home, I thought a bit about kindness. How it begins within the heart and then radiates out to all that is, and all that will ever be.

Kindness is beautiful.
So is friendship.
And so is saying goodbye, as long as we follow it with, “until next time.”

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 308 :: happy day 2

4 Nov
{kind time}

Ahhh….. Friends, sunshine, fun and some incredible food. Thank you Denver for a perfect weekend. Thank you, Life, for incredible friends. The kind that have known and loved each other for decades.

We walked 7 miles today (according to my iWatch). We ate two amazingly created culinary meals and we laughed our way through one funny movie about A Bad Moms Christmas.

It all has me thinking…
There is power in numbers.
And there is magic in friendship.
It’s like walking on sunshine.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 38 :: winning

7 Feb

Day 38. Mama Sling.

Tonight, the Denver Broncos won Superbowl 50. Mama Sling would have been happy.

Very happy.

So much so, my father and sister both texted me after the game saying just as much. Which I think is so perfect – like Mama Sling was right there watching the game with all of us.

And that feels like winning to me (even if it’s not the team I wanted to go to the big game).

To be honest, I would have my team lose if it meant seeing my mom again, cheering on her team, squealing with those high pitched giggles, scolding John Elway and then cheering him on again, all the while holding her breath for the final game-winning kick.

Of course, tonight’s game wasn’t quite that dramatic. There were more flags than footballs (certainly more penalties than touchdowns). But the image of my mother holding her breath, squealing, cheering and laughing with glee came back to me all the same. Like she was right here. In so many ways she was. Is. Will continue to be.

Because we never really lose what we think we have lost.
And maybe that’s the point of this big old silly game we all play anyway.

P.S. I did my yoga 😉

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 272 :: goodbye denver

1 Oct

It looks like a sunset but it was a sunrise.

So much the same. One is a point of inspiration and the other a point of reflection. But both so similar.

As I reflect on my trip I am tired but happy. Also a good combination.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
