JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 247 :: look toward the sun

4 Sep

{trust}

I am excited to report that the orchids in my office bloomed this week. It’s the first time an orchid has bloomed in my care. It’s actually the first time an orchid has not completely died in my care, so I am beyond elated.

The plant sits on my bookcase and leans toward the sun. In fact, I didn’t even know it was blooming because the buds were pointing toward the sun hidden on the backside toward the wall.

It reminds me that to grow you just need some water, good soil, and sun. So look toward the sun!

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 232 :: buzz

20 Aug

{trust}

I’ve been thinking about bees much lately. Mostly because we have a resident beehive in our back patio area and Brady likes chasing them… until they chase him back and then, well, he doesn’t like it.

The bees remind me to keep buzzing after our dreams and to let the sweet nectar of our dreams fuel our pursuits.

Like a bee to a flower…
Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 229 create :: flow

17 Aug

{trust}

I am enamored with flowers. How they grow, bloom, unfold. It’s no wonder that FLOW is the root of the word flower. I am also enamored with the trust required to bloom, whether you are a flower or a human. We must trust where we are planted, what we are fed, how we are nourished and weather patterns that are out of our control.

And yet, still, we bloom. It’s quite amazing really.

So tonight’s thoughts on trust are to create flow, whether you are a flower or a human, and what where it takes you.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 110 :: trust in mother nature

20 Apr

{trust}

The world is pink, if only for a moment. Spring blossoms have taken over the trees and it just makes me happy. Maybe it’s because they are pink? Maybe it is because it is finally warmer outside? Maybe it is because the promise of summer is just around the corner…

Or maybe it is because it is a reminder to trust Mother Nature. As Earth Day approaches I couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to celebrate our planet than to capture her beauty. And that is what makes me happy.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 90 :: trust in spring

2 Apr

{trust}

Spring is coming! Spring is coming!

We have officially spotted a flower poking out of the ground. We are pretty sure it’s a yellow daffodil just waiting to bloom. It has me thinking about trust and spring and how they can bloom hand-in-hand.

It’s a good reminder to be like a flower. Bloom and grow and trust the spring.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 175 :: the joy of summer

24 Jun
{hot}

It was hot out today. The lawns of the Pacific Northwest look yellow from all the heat. But the smell of summer is all around. And it’s that very specific smell, a mixture of flowers, drinks, sunscreen, water, and fresh cut lawns that is the essence of summer and pure joy.

Happy summer. It’s finally here. Let the joy begin!

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 136 :: free joy

14 May
{bloom}

Okay so it’s not technically summer, but the last few days have felt like it.   And, it feels good. Flowers blooming, sunshine shining, bees buzzing. It’s as if the world has woken up.

I have literally watched the leaves grow on the tree outside my window. They were baby sprouts just a week ago, now they are full on leaves the size of my hand. And green. So green!

I love the color of green spring flipping into summer green. It’s that beautiful lime then full dark kale color. It’s like watching Mother Nature’s rainbow this burst of color all around me.

I love it. And it brings me joy. And, biggest bonus ever… it’s FREE!
More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 122 :: pink petals

1 May
{joy}

I can’t remember the last time I have spent this much time in bed and the bathroom. But the good news is I am almost turning a corner. The fever has finally broken and it’s raining pink flower petals.

Literally.  As I was taking a shower pink flower petals started falling from the sky.

Of course, it was Justin, on the other side of the curtain throwing them over and on top of me.  It was absolutely the most joyful thing that could have happened since I have been cooped up in this sick bed.

What a joyful surprise.
When you can’t go see the flowers, let the flowers find you.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 89 :: long lost friends

2 Apr
{flowers}

I’ve been thinking a lot about my friends lately — and how lucky I am to be connected to so many amazing people in this world. What a true gift, in so many ways that words cannot describe. Joy is one word, that can only sum it up.

I’ve also been thinking about the times that I have felt so very far away from my “people” — and in those times when I cannot reach a friend, it’s always been the flowers that give me support.

The flowers pop up, bloom, and remind me that there is still beauty in this world.  Sometimes I think the flowers are long lost friends because of the joy they bring to me.

And, those flowers have taught me so many valuable lessons.

  • To bloom no matter who is watching.
  • To remember there will always be another spring
  • To celebrate all the various colors and combinations this world has to offer
  • And to recognize beauty in every stage of life

Those flowers are just so full of wisdom, love, and joy, aren’t they?
Thank you, my friends.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 84 :: watching flowers bloom

27 Mar
{joyufl}

Spring is starting to peek through the rain, and along with it are also the flowers. I love seeing the flowers begin to bloom. They bring with them so much joy!

Which brings me to tonight’s thoughts on joy…

Joy, truly is, watching the flowers bloom.
Bloom, flowers, bloom! The world needs your joy.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie
