JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 258 :: smores

15 Sep

{trust}

There is something celebratory about a campfire and smores. It was the best way to close out this year’s girls weekend. With fire burning and embers heating glorious and gooey marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers, the fire crackles as the moment takes over my soul.

I am in the moment with friends and fire.
And then, there are the smores. Mmmmmm…. smores!

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 306 :: girlssssssss

2 Nov
{weekend}

I packed my bag tonight. Because tomorrow is officially girlsssssss weekend!

I am excited to see my friends who I haven’t seen in so very long. Most of all, I’m excited just to be together. Being. It’s a very special thing. Showing up just to be together — with your girls — on a weekend.

But first… I have to be very kind to myself and go to bed before that 3am wake-up call to catch a cab, bus, and plane. With my bags and my heart all packed up with love.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 269 :: girlz weekend

28 Sep

If there is one thing I have learned thus far about peak performance it may be this — to work hard you also need to play hard.

Or rest.
And laugh.
And relax a little too.

And so it is that I feel lighter and all filled up after a weekend with some of my best girls. We descended upon Denver to carve out some time to be together. Which isn’t a small feat given we live in three different time zones.

As the weekend ends and I say goodbye to some of the most important people in my life, we are already planning our next “trip.” But it is not lost on me that what we are really sharing is The Journey. One that is made up of a lot of laughter, a bucket of tears, some serious inside jokes, and a dose of how we are going to save the world too.

To that point, I may just have the answer about how to save the world (or at least yourself) in three simple steps:

1. Make new friends
2. Keep the old
3. Find time to play with your friends

Here’s to peak performance through the power of Girlz Weekend.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
