JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 243 :: cuteness

31 Aug

{trust}

Ah, cuteness. I was thinking today about the beauty of summer, being that we are getting close to the wrap up of it. Summer has a certain cuteness to it, a Lily Pulizter of the seasons if you will. Cuteness can be so uplifting. Almost like a sweet dose of sugar or puppies.

I have one sleeping next to me as I write this. A puppy that is, not sugar. Although Sugar would be a fun name for a dog this one is called Brady. But just like sugar, he lightens my spirits every day.

I think every day needs a little bit of cuteness. It goes a long way even when it’s not summer.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 242 :: happy labor day weekend

30 Aug

{trust}

Well hello, Labor Day weekend. You are so very welcomed to be here and yet, it’s the sign of things to come. Like winter. I am focused on enjoying the last moments of summer’s magic (including the melody of the tree frogs singing outside my window) and the first signs of fall warmth (cooler nights with the window open).

It’s the changing of the seasons around here. Enjoy every moment!

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 241 :: focus on the good

29 Aug

{trust}

They say where your mind goes your energy flows, so tonight I’m thinking about the goodness of summer. Especially as summer is winding down and the first signs of fall are popping up all around me.

There’s still time for good things like ice cream… ummmm, pink bubblegum ice cream.

Focus on the good.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 240 :: all shall be well

28 Aug

{trust}

The world lost a bright light today and my dear teacher. Tonight I sit here reflecting on the words that she gave me for precisely moments like these. All shall be well.

This is not the first time I have lost someone I loved but it is always hard to say goodbye. Even though I know that my teacher and her lessons will remain with me for a lifetime, and I am part of a lineage of students that will carry on her wisdom, it is still not easy.

If there is one thing I know to do now, it is to look for the magic. There is magic in everyday life and there is magic in our dear relationships that continue way past the final breaths we breathe.

As my teacher would sing to me and I will sing into the future:

All Shall Be Well,
All Shall Be Well,
And All Matter of Things,
Shall Be Well,
Shall Be Well,
Shall Be Well.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 239 :: trusting it all

27 Aug

{trust}

Tonight I am reflecting on what it takes to trust and learn.

And that brings me to Laughter. I am laughing a little on the inside, at the realization that the joke has been on me. This year of Trust has given me many twists and turns and you know what the pattern keeps coming back to? Trusting myself.

They say when the student is ready the teacher appears. And, now, my dearest teacher is in hospice. There is irony in this situation, being that this is the year that I am learning to trust and it appears it will also be the year when she is learning to leave. The two may intersect and while it wouldn’t surprise me, still I am shocked.

She is the one who taught me to trust it all to matter. She taught me to trust the moments of confusion, and the moments of clarity, for each, have a valuable lesson to bring forward. She taught me that it all matters… and I mean ALL.

When a spider would show up on my window she would ask me to trust it (not to kill it). When a flower bloomed she taught me to honor it. When an animal appeared she taught me to thank it. She was trained in Native American ways and in her teachings she taught me that everything mattered. Everything had a message. Everything had a purpose.

So with that, I am left with this: the student has become the teacher. Through her lesson plan, I have ultimately been taught to trust myself. Silly me, not realizing that this was her plan all along.

Now, as she prepares to leave I also know that she will never be gone. This is, in a way, the final test and possibly my graduation. And since I know that everything matters, I know that she will choose the perfect moment to leave and the perfect moment to remind me that lessons and love live on.

They always do.
Trust me.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 238 :: giving trust

26 Aug

{trust}

Ah, Monday. Here you are again. In this year of TRUST you have me thinking about giving. What is giving? What is giving too much? What is giving too little? What is giving enough?

I have learned the fine art of giving every day, every night really, for almost nine years now because I show up right here on this little blog. I give of my thoughts and words and sometimes wisdom and sometimes laughter, and sometimes fear. I give of myself. I oftentimes wonder if it is a funny little side gig or a worthy cause? Is it giving too much, or too little? Just right?

So you have led me here: showing up.

Showing up is truly giving, and trusting that the gift will be received. I have heard from so many of you who read this blog or see the little pictures on social media that the message (or gift) was received. It warms my heart.

Blogging is not for the faint of heart or minds. I will continue to show up here because it is a gift, to you and honestly to me. Each night I trust that I will show up, so I do. So there it is – trust.

The question is where are you showing up? Know whatever the answer is, it is a gift.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 237 :: prepare for the best

25 Aug

{trust}

It’s Sunday night and time to prepare for the week ahead.

Prepare: to put in proper condition or readiness.

I’ve been thinking much about preparing lately, and how when you prepare you keep preparing and sometimes (I) forget to enjoy what I have prepared. So, here’s to preparing for the week again, and enjoying what comes! That is a lesson in trust.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 236 :: good reflections

24 Aug

{trust}

If there one lesson that trust has taught me this year is it goodness. You have to believe that all is good in order to trust.

So reflect on all that is good because there is so much good.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 234 :: just roll with it

22 Aug

{trust}

My marketing conference is over and my head is FULL. With so many good ideas I am swimming in information and technology and innovation. That being said, I was also struck with the message, to just roll with it.

Just like in life, when you have too many choices, sometimes you just need to roll with the tide and trust the wave to take you to shore.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 233 :: seeing trust everywhere

21 Aug

{trust}

I heard a lot of people talk about trust today. It was another day at eTail and the topics were all marketing all the time. What struck me most is how much TRUST popped out to me, how many times people said it today, and how important it is in business.

Of course, it is the red car phenomena – if you buy a red car you start seeing the everywhere. Which makes sense, what we look for we find.

Could there be a better reason to look? If what you look for you find… maybe it’s not about the journey or the pursuit, but rather, the question.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.
