If there one lesson that trust has taught me this year is it goodness. You have to believe that all is good in order to trust.

Today was a good day. It was in all estimations a good day. There is nothing better than a life full of good days strung together. That is truly, joyful being.
Being in the joy.
It is the moments in our lives when we take a pause to honor that which is important, beautiful, industrious, inventive, inspiring, heroic, and peaceful that we find ourselves in that pause. The place where we can breathe freely. The place where we can close our eyes as we look up to the sun and feel the warmth of life. The place where we share laughter and joy with the ones we love.
The joyful pause.
This is being. And I am learning in this year of Joy that it is always found on the being side of human beings. Not the doing.
Humans do great things. Human beings, when we are our most human, do the greatest of all things. We are present.
Today, of all days, is a good day to be present.
And, that, is the biggest gift of all.

It snowed today. A tiny bit. So little, I could still see green grass outside my window. But apparently, it was a big deal. Everyone was nervous about the roads, and schools closing early, and doctors offices closed due to the storm.
I was surprised. Especially after surviving so many Boston winters of the past. Part of me was like… “Seriously!!! I drove to work, uphill, both ways in two feet of snow!”
Of course, the weather will always change (as do our memories!). The challenge is to find joy in the moment right now, wherever it finds you. Rain or shine.
Maybe joy is all about staying flexible?

It’s 4-letter word Friday! Diane, the queen of this game, the one who introduced me to it, sent me a birthday wish yesterday. It said:
“May your birthday and all your days be filled with love, help, hope, kind acts, pals, fair play and good time(s)”
I have to hand it to her.. she is GOOD at this game! So tonight, I am celebrating the 4-letter word GOOD.
As in good friends, good food, good flowers, good gifts, good drinks, good gracious I had a birthday this week! And that reminds me of this:
