TGIF.
F*ing Fridays are back!
And, they will continue to occur on Friday. I mentioned some of my favorite F words back on Day 5 in Year 1, including: Fearless, Fabulous, Fine, Fun, Faith, Freedom, Forgiveness, to name a Few.
Last week I dove into the words Fear of Fire.
Today’s F*ing Friday is dedicated to the word:
Freedom.
As in, the power of a jar.
This week I made a tiny breakthrough of the arachnophobic kind.
As I sat on the couch typing away on my computer I saw something move out of the corner of my eye.
The reptilian part of my brain screamed “SPIDER!”
My body and limbs began moving, searching for a place to run and hide.
My head diplomaticallly stepped in and calmly suggested I find a nice kleenex and toilet to flush and dispose of the evidence.
But, then my heart took over and halted everything. She grabbed a jar, gently nudged the spider into it with the lid, shut it tightly — and then promptly ran it outside.
As I gingerly shook the jar and dumped the little arachnid onto the ground I felt a foreign feeling.
I just saved a spider’s life.
Instead of smushing a spider to it’s death, I let it go free.
It was such a tiny move, but felt like such a huge step forward.
Who knows, maybe it cleared some karma or sent a good vibration out into the world?
But, I do know this:
I conquered a huge f*ing fear with just a teeny, tiny move.
And, I go to bed tonight with a light heart, knowing there will be another day to be lived. Indeed, another web to be weaved.
