JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 325 :: kindness changes everything

21 Nov
{kind acts}

This want sent to me today. I love it when people see something of kindness and shoot it over to me to share. (Thank you DeAnne!)

I have to agree when it comes to kindness… little is big.
Big acts are always the small acts.
And kindness is always big.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 281 :: positively kind

8 Oct

Rise up.

If there’s one thing that being under the weather gives me, it’s this: perspective.
Which is why I picked this quote as I nursed my little head cold today.

We rise by lifting others.
We also rise by lifting ourselves too. Because what goes around comes around as trite as that sounds.

Kindness has a boomerang effect. And, as I am learning, sharing the power of kindness starts with taking care of ourselves.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 212 :: win or lose

23 Aug

So good. So good.

We watched some of the Little League World Series tonight, and I have to say… it breaks my heart. I don’t know why I have such a hard time watching those little guys win (AND lose!).

The first team that takes the lead to the win makes me happy – and then I root for the underdog. Then the underdog takes the lead and my heart flip flops, hurting for the other team. It’s a vicious cycle.

It doesn’t feel very kind. But I do know this about sports – being a good sport means giving your best, and shaking hands at the end of the game. Win or lose.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 204 :: kind of big

15 Aug

Truck.

This is a truck. One really BIG truck.

I had to rent a car today and the friendly staff at Enterprise offered me this big beauty. So, of course being one up for any adventure, I said, Yes.

Truthfully, it’s been a very long time since I drove a truck. And, it’s been a REALLY long time since I drove a truck this big. We have to go all the way back to high school and to a 16-year-old Jamie who just received the biggest ticket to freedom – her driver’s license.

My sister and I couldn’t agree on a car schedule so I decided I would just drive my dad’s old Ford truck (with a capital T) that sat out in front of the house. It was used for camping trips mostly, but I decided if I packed it with my girlfriends and basketball team it would be cool enough for school. We called it The. Big. Blue. Bomber.

I drove The BIg Blue Bomber everywhere. School. Drive-In. Basketball Practice. And everywhere else in between. Okay, it was Idaho, so it wasn’t that weird. But still…. in a world of cute little cars it was a bold choice.

Today, in another bold choice, I looked at the Ram 1500 and said yes. Not only because it was funny, and an adventure — but also a little bit because it made me remember that confident teenage girl who decided SHE could drive a truck to school – and everywhere else.

And I think it’s a “Kind” move to listen to that little teenage girl once in a while.
Even when she wants to drive an enormous truck.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie
