JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 145 :: kindness on consignment

29 May

Finding kindness.

Yesterday I found kindness on consignment. It was sitting on a shelf. Imagine my surprise…I moved it to this chair for a better photo:

It reminds me of this quote:

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”― Wendy Mass

It also had me thinking about the kindness of consignment. Passing something on to someone else once it has met its mission in your life. I wonder who owned this “Be Kind” art piece. Why did they buy it? How long did it hang on their wall? What did they think when they looked at it? Did they pay attention to kindness? Did it change their life, or the lives of others in their life?

Who knows….

It has done its job well, by already showing up in mine. Even though I just snapped a photo I saw it. I really saw it for what it is. A reminder of what we all want.

To be seen. Even if sitting on a shelf in a consignment shop.
How kind.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 40 :: love by the mooooooon

10 Feb

So big.

The moon. It’s so beautiful tonight. While we missed the hullabaloo over the comet and the eclipse and probably something else… we did see the big, fat, amazing, take up the entire sky MOON tonight!

She’s a snow moon. I love this shot Justin captured. AKA: The Death Star:

And, then there is this one. All etheric and cloudy and romantic.
(Also a Justin pic!)

Then, there’s the one I captured. It’s all sorts of BLURRY and bad. But I’m being KIND this year, so I took a second look to see if I could see anything beautiful. And you know what I found?

A heart. It’s there…. you just have to LOOK for it.

And, isn’t that the truth. It may be the first real lesson in this year of Intentional Acts of Kindness that is coming my way. What we LOOK for, we FIND.

Happy Looking!

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 13 :: kindness challenge #2

12 Jan

Confidence.

I’ve been thinking much about kindness. What it is. What it means. And especially what it means to be intentionally kind.

I’ve landed on this: Confidence.

So today! Today!!! I am kicking off another challenge.

Challenge #2: Confidence
If you choose to accept this challenge, please join me in

  • Feeling certain. Tap in and trust your most kind self.
  • Believe in the best of any situation. Hold onto and trust that the most kind outcome will be yours.

And there… we have it. Easy?
We will find out.

Kindly yours.
More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS DAY 7 :: kind of niceness

7 Jan

Pushover.

Today I was kind in a regular-sort-of-day way. Mostly to my doggies.

I am a puppy pushover. The dogs get what they want. If they want something they come to me. They paw at my leg. They whine in my direction. Because I cave. I am probably a dog trainer’s worst nightmare. I can’t help it… they pull at my heartstrings.

Today Brady got what he wanted. A hug. A sit-on-my-lap pawfully sweet hug.

And Pup got what he wanted. A pawfully cute kiss and lots of attention — and too much water.

And that was probably the extent of my intentional kindness today. And, you know what? I am okay with that. I yearned for a dog for half my adult life. I couldn’t convince my ex to be a dog owner. It caused me an overwhelmingly intense sort of sadness. The kind that is hard to explain to others, but you know it deep in your heart. When you’re a dog person you need a dog.

And now I have two. So, yeah, maybe I’m a pushover. But I waited for it and I have earned it. And I do enjoy every second of it. Even the bumpy, barky, messy days.

Which reminds me of another kind of kindness: enjoying what you have.
Enjoy what you have, kind soul.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 5 :: kindness challenge

5 Jan

Respect.

I’ve been thinking a lot about kindness – the intentional kind. I keep hearing the word RESPECT. It seems they go hand-in-hand. I’m also remembering something I know — deeply know and understand — words are free. And maybe the most powerful form of respect.

So… with that thought, tonight, I’m throwing out an Intentional Acts of Kindness Challenge!

Challenge #1:  Practice Respect:
If you choose to accept this challenge, try one of the following acts:
– admire someone with kind words
– point out a particular and appreciated detail with kind words
– use thoughtful words to compliment someone on an achievement

I will be playing along… and I would love to hear how it goes for you too. 😉
Cheers, kind soul.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
