JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 54 :: joyous investing

24 Feb
{invest}

My first Kiva! And I couldn’t be more proud.

This is the introduction of Pretty Pockets, a company that is empowering moms with nothing but elegant and practical accessories they are proud to wear.

I love this diaper bag backpack that also holds a bottle and diaper changer inside this very stylish package. It is a Kiva project that I participated in by giving a small loan to a woman with a big dream.

The irony is that it was a wedding gift to Justin and I… and it keeps on giving. I love following the development of the brand and the product as well as Madhu‘s updates in the process.

It brings me great joy. I don’t know if it’s the investment in someone else’s dream more than the return I get in my heart. But, joy it is.

And that has me thinking about investments. And investment in someone else’s dream is a contribution to your heart with exponential returns.

Pretty Pockets, indeed!

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 343 :: christmas kindness

10 Dec
{giving and receiving}

Today I continue the month of Christmas Kindness!

Today I made an investment donation on KIVA.org. It was a wedding gift from our dear friends Sheryl and Webster. I had not yet experienced the land of Kiva until we received this beautiful gift that was given to us to give to others to help spur their dreams.

It took me months to finally decide on the “right fit” loan to give on Kiva. There were SO many stories, and SO many ideas, and SO many good works. And in the season of giving, Kiva has me thinking about giving and receiving and giving some more.

Maybe the best gifts are those that truly do keep on giving.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

{keep on giving}
