JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 162 :: trust this moment

11 Jun

{trust}

Trust is an amazing teacher, I am learning day by day. Today, I am reminded to trust this moment, to fully live in it, to fully hold space for it and watch the magic that will unfold.

What was magical in your day?
Can you hold trust long enough to see it show up?
Try it!
Trust me.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 84 :: trust the magic

26 Mar

{trust}

Trust is a funny thing… it keeps testing me. It also keeps telling me to be patient (in line) to be calm (when I want things to go faster), to not react (when someone is royally annoying me), you know, the everyday events in this thing called life.

It’s a test of sorts, this trust thing. So I am beginning to trust the magic of the lessons it brings.

Everything happens for a reason, so trust the magic, she (trust) whispers to me every day now. Trust the magic.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

 JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 163 :: kind memories

15 Jun

Birds and Magic.

We watched ESPN’s 30 For 30 Tonight. It brought back memories, oldies but goodies. Full of Magic and Birds.

It brings back good childhood sports memories and makes me wonder about kindness. The kindness that happens when adversaries and rivals transcend social consciousness by respecting each other. And for one brief decade, all is right in the world.

If it can happen in a game, can it happen in real life?
And what would be possible if it did?

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 213 :: magic moments

9 Aug

Day 213: Beauty.

I’m sitting here thinking about magical moments. I’ve had quite a magical day. I’m watching the Olympics, appreciating the magical moments these athletes are experiencing, as all the days they have been living most of their life for unfolds in this moment.

And then I’m appreciating the magical moments I share with the women in my life – my aunt, my nieces, and my mom’s best friend. From moments of shopping, trying on bathing suits to giggling like little girls with little girls.

There is magic that happens when women get together. Even if it’s just shopping. There is magic all around us.

Pure magic.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

P.S. And now I yoga!

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 26 :: birthday yoga

26 Jan

Day 26. The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything.

Birthday. Birth. Rebirth. 42.

(this was breakfast!)

Today I’m thinking about birthdays. And birth. And rebirth. And what this 42nd year holds. It is my favorite number! My basketball number! The magical 42.

If you type “what is the meaning of life the universe and everything” into Google it will send you the answer: 42.

And…according to Wikipedia 42 is the angle rounded to whole degrees for which a rainbow appears.

Meaning of Life? Rainbows? Universe? Everything! This sounds good.

So it seems I might be entering the magic. Bring on the magic universe! And a few rainbows. But first… I need to do some birthday yoga…(there might be cake afterwards!).

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 198 :: more beautiful F words

15 Jul

The more I write this blog, the more I wind my way back to the F words I love so much:  Friends, Food, Fun, Flowers…

…and more flowers.

This popped up in the yard today:

I think part of the reason why I love flowers so much — and still feel like they are magic — is the fact that they are always there.  Below the surface. Just waiting to pop up, sprout, bloom.

It’s amazing to me. Every time a flower blooms I look at it with absolute wonder and awestruck confusion.

How did that happen? Underneath my nose? In plain daylight? Out in the elements?

I suppose like every story of success and peak performance the ideal environment is a combination of the right soil, good light, and a lot energy rippling beneath the surface.

And maybe a little magic too.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 192 :: a bursting bud blooms

9 Jul

A sunflower returns.

Only one made it back this year, and it’s an amazing story. We dug up all the sunflowers after they died last year to make room for corn. (And the corn is almost as tall as me now!)

But one little seed held on and sprouted and bloomed into this beautiful yellow sunflower.

All the way at the other end of the garden.

Was it a bird that picked up a seed and dropped it far away? Was it the wind?

Who knows. But it’s beautiful. And I’m glad it returned for one more season. Magic, I tell you, pure magic. And maybe a lesson in peak performance.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

{what surprised you today?}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 176 :: good grape

24 Jun

We have our first tomato. It’s official! A little, round, red, plump tomato has made itself known in the garden.

Since this is the second year of the garden, I find it amazing that I’m just as impressed by the first tomato as I was last year at the first tomato. A.K.A. squealed with joy!

I’m kind of impressed with everything Mother Nature makes…. it’s like some form of secret, ancient magic.

Which doesn’t make it too surprising that I was shocked to see these grapes hanging over a fence. Not our fence, but still, a fence! In a yard! Of a house!

Grapes!

Good grape! Wonders never cease.
And isn’t that wonderful?

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

BLOG – GIFT DAY 330 a month of inspiration :: 5 secrets of abundance

26 Nov

Today, in my month-long nod to inspiration, I share a word.

Abundance.

As you know, this year, I dedicated my 365 days to uncovering abundance. What is it? What does it mean? What does it look like?

So, at first, I asked around. I asked my friends, family, and people in my daily life.

Here’s the funny thing about abundance… everyone had a different definition for it. I dare you to get the same answer from 5 people.

In all my conversations, one word kept popping up.

Thanksgiving.

Now we find ourselves here, on the cusp of Thanksgiving Eve. And I am asking myself what have I learned so far about the “A” word?

So tonight I share my TOP 5 Abundance Lessons and what I have discovered thus far… but I warn you …there is still one more month to go in this search for abundance so this is not final.

1. Health is our greatest wealth

Thank you to my thyroid for that one. And a long string of doctor’s appointments across the country from the east coast to the west coast and finally into the caring hands of Dr. Milas of OHSU in Portland, Oregon. The thyroid was benign and as a wave of relief cast over my entire being, I realized something I have known most of my life: health is wealth.

2. Forever Friends are Family

I love my friends dearly. Always have. But this year, in the midst of a cancer scare (see #1) I was reminded what it means to have forever friends. The kind of friends who show up no matter what. The kind of friends who call, write, send surprise gifts in the mail, text, or find some other way to connect and remind you that they care — and are there, even across the miles. These are forever friends. And they are more like family.

3. True Love is for the Dogs

It doesn’t take long for love to set in. Just look in the eyes of a puppy! We successfully passed “Fostering 101” last week according to our Aunt Judy — which means we were able to foster a puppy and then actually follow through to find it a home. It would have been easy to keep her in our little family pack — she was that sweet and that cute. But it wouldn’t have been the best thing for her. And isn’t true love all about knowing what’s best for the one you love?

4. Focus. Focus. Focus.

This year I took on something new — you! Every single day I write to you to help you along with your goals over at The Promise Daily. My mission is to give you a kick in the pants. But what I have learned is that I need this as much as I thought you might like it. Focus is power. And keeping your focus is what allows abundance to grow.

and finally…

5. Words are gifts.

I know I have already shared The Card Crusade with you. But here’s the thing… I truly believe it changed my life… just three little words:  I. LOVE. YOU. — or even — I. THANK. YOU. bring more than a smile to someone’s face. These words warm a heart, they tell someone it was all worth it, they show someone how much you mean even after all these years, after all the tears, hard work, long days, good tries, bad endings, happy reunions or long lost memories in between. Words heal. Words connect. Words work magic on your heart.

So let me leave you with these words of thanks.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for skimming, looking, reading, sharing, posting, referring, and supporting me.

Your presence makes me want to keep my promise.

Your comments get me up in the morning to check and see who’s here.

Your dreams send me searching for more good ideas, inspiring quotes and touch your heart sort of songs that I can share with you.

I. Thank. You.

On this eve before a Thanksgiving celebration, I am full.
Or, you could say, I feel abundant.

All because of you.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore {fearless!}
Jamie

{may you feel abundant and loved}
