JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 88 dreams are made of trust

31 Mar

{trust}

Trust me. I’ve been thinking about this topic of trust for a while now… at least 88 days. It has me spotting things, or I should say, looking at things in a new light. Like the flowers trying to spring out of the ground and the trust it must take to push through layers of soil to follow the sun.

Or the winning shot at the end of a basketball game, and the trust it must take to keep pushing forward. Trust is a game of faith and hope and its the stuff dreams are made of.

But without trust, I’m not sure it’s possible to go after your dreams. You have to trust there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. You have to trust there will be sun after you push through the soil. And you have to trust that game-winning shot will leave your hands and fall through the hoop. Maybe that is why it is called March Madness.

It’s quite mad to believe in spring, that the sun will melt the snow and the flowers will come out to play. But we do. We trust it will happen. And it does.

What a beautiful reminder from Mother Nature to keep the faith, hope… and trust.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 88 :: trust is tricky business

30 Mar

{trust}

Oh, madness! We watched the latest NCAA March Madness games tonight and it has me thinking about not giving up, the power of trusting yourself through the final ticking seconds, and sticking with it when all seems lost.

Trust is proving to be a tricky business as I explore it more this year, but just like March Madness trust is also teaching my basketball-loving heart that it’s not over until the final buzzer…

So why not trust and believe and play until the very end? It could be worth it!

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 87 :: trust sleepy eyes

29 Mar

{trust}

My sleepy eyes are telling me it is time for bed…. because I just woke up after falling asleep on the couch. It’s a March Madness night but I don’t think these sleepy eyes will make it through the game.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 79 :: march madness

20 Mar

Day 79: Brackets.

There is no madness like March. Because there is nothing more powerful than a clock running down to bring the power of NOW into right NOW.

I sat on the edge of my seat tonight watching Texas A&M secure their sweet spot  in nothing short of a miracle. And my heart fell for Northern Iowa as their own miraculous path disintegrated in not one – but two – overtime opportunities.

“This is madness!” I yelled at the television screen many times. “Madness!”
And it is madness I tell you. The Madness of marching to the final four.

And while nothing is more exciting than watching heroes born in the final moments of a game with time running off the clock, it’s also exhausting.

And that has me thinking…it is a not so gentle reminder that every second counts. In our games, in our sports, in our lives the time is ticking.

It’s madness really how fast time flies. Madness. But I suppose that is always our choice, how to bring the power of NOW into right NOW.

So right now…I am off to do some yoga.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 82 :: monday bliss: national puppy day

23 Mar

It’s a Monday. But if ever there were a day to talk bliss it’s this: National Puppy Day!

In order to properly celebrate I resurrect the cutest puppy photo I ever took:

This puppy has turned into the craziest little dog ever …but the most loving creatue I’ve ever met. And… well…energetic too.Today was also a celebration of someone I never knew: Emmy Noether. Google told me so, with the illustration that greeted me all day long above the search bar. I did a little research and it seems Emmy was pretty amazing. Einstein thought so, and well, I don’t know how you get a better reference than that.

“In the judgment of the most competent living mathematicians,” penned the great man (Einstein), “Fräulein Noether was the most significant creative mathematical genius thus far produced since the higher education of women began.”

Speaking of mathematicians…. Today also had me “Raven” about an NFL play who is a mathematician. This is exactly what the NFL needs to bliss out their reputation if you want to know my humble marketing opinion. (Besides, I am done with basketball. My bracket is broken. Go Pats!)

All this aside, the biggest bliss moment of the day was this: an empty email in-box. I cleaned it out. Zero pending emails. It may only last for 3.5 seconds but man it feels good!

Even more blissful than puppies.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 81 :: march madness continues!

22 Mar
It’s March Madness!

Last night I logged in and guess what? I had only two teams wrong. Placed in the 99.6% and moved up to 51,051th place out of 11.57 million brackets.

Here’s proof of this madness:

And here’s tonight’s madness… or badness.
My bracket standing is at 3,623,663 place!

My bracket has been busted. Oh well.
It was bliss for a moment. Or, maybe it was happiness for a moment. I once read that happiness needs unhappiness to be defined, whereas bliss doesn’t need an opposite. It just “is” what it is.

But my Bracket Bliss is now such sweet sorrow.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 80 :: march madness

21 Mar
It’s March Madness! Justin insisted that I fill out an ESPN bracket online. So I reluctantly did.

I haven’t been watching the tournament. I haven’t paid attention to the regular season. I have NO idea what team has which players who can do this or that. Whatever.

So I took my precious time and filled out a bracket paying close attention to rankings and of course rooting for the teams that I have any sort of affinity towards. (KU, that’s for you Laura and Lisa!)

Then I submitted the bracket and voila! It was immediately lost. ESPN gave me a error screen. “What?” I exclaimed feeling like my time has been totally wasted and now I had to do it all over again. So I rushed through it, not paying attention to anything, just clicking buttons for the sake of clicking buttons to fill out the brackets.

Yesterday I logged in and guess what? I had only two teams wrong. Placed in the 99.5% of entrants and somewhere near the 96,000 place.

Tonight I logged in and guess what? I had only two teams wrong. Placed in the 99.6% and moved up to 51,051 place out of approximately 11.57 million brackets.

Here’s proof of this madness:

All because I had no clue what I was doing.
I guess the old saying ignorance is bliss isn’t that far off.

More tomorrow.
