JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 350 :: christmas kindness

17 Dec

Today I continue the month of Christmas Kindness!

It’s the fourth day in my pajamas. Winter colds are so cozy.  The only progress I have made in these last four days is with the Gilmore Girls on Netflix.

And with dreaming.

There are so many dreams that happen when you stay in your PJ’s for four days straight. I love what I learn in my dreams, and what they tell me, reveal to me, share with me and inspire me.

It all has me thinking about the rest and reset button.  One step back and two steps forward.

Dreams are kind.

More tomorrow…

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY :: 248 fuzzy pajamas

11 Sep

Day 248: Gentle.

It’s Sunday night. The laundry is done. Football is over. And a new week begins tomorrow.

I have been hearing the message to “be gentle” with myself, after travel and travel and travel. And I have to say, that feels good. So I am wrapped in fuzzy pajamas, with fuzzy slippers ready to retire this week behind me.

And start anew tomorrow.

More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 262 :: PJ moments

24 Sep

Bliss moment of the day: comfy pajamas.

I don’t know if it’s thoughts of Christmas morning…
Or snuggling under the covers…
Maybe it’s the comfort from Mama Sling when I was a child sick in bed…
Or pillow fights from teenage pajama parties…
Possibly going to class in college with only a care for comfort…
Or sleeping in on Saturday mornings…

Whatever it is …. I LOVE MY PAJAMAS!

So tonight, I end this day with a thought of PJ’s.
And there seems to be promise in that.

More tomorrow.

Day 303: a scary week to feel like a kid again

31 Oct

It’s certainly been a scary week over here on the East Coast.

My heart and prayers go out to everyone cleaning up and digging out after this storm.

Since Halloween arrived on schedule, Justin decided we needed a little humor. So we now have matching pajamas for our Halloween costumes.

They aren’t just any pajamas though…
These are full length, all body onesies (splattered with the Patriots logo of course).

We may have had lots of tricks around here this week – Sandy being up to her scariest and delivering an All Hallows Week to Remember…

But, in a way, it has all made me feel like a kid again.

The fright of not knowing or understanding what might happen in a storm.
Wishing and wanting to run into my parents bedroom and duck for cover from said storm.
And, now, turning in for bed in a set of onesies with a zipper all the way down the front.

The only thing missing is a big bucket of candy and kids ringing the front door for treats.

But we have survived worse, haven’t we?
Happy Halloween.

Day 288: me and my pj’s

15 Oct

Me likey.

It’s bedtime around here and I am exhausted from a really fabulous day with Debbie Phillips at Sophfronia Scott’s book workshop (otherwise known as The Book Sistah!).

It was such a great day that, to be honest, the only thing I wanted to do when we returned to our hotel room was slip into my pajamas.  (Well, actually, make that — take off my bra — and then slip into pajamas.)

Ahhhhhh, PJ’s at the end of the day.
There’s no better way to find comfort for my body or the aching, throbbing feet I just pried out of one-inch heels.

Okay, maybe snuggle in bed with a super cozy comforter and big, fluffy pillows.

My pajamas do double duty — because I sleep in workout clothes and I work in my pajamas.

Here I am in bed getting ready to write Day 288 all snuggled up in my signature nighttime attire of workout top and shorts.

My PJ’s may not be pretty, but they sure are comfy.  Plus, when you wear the same thing to bed that you wear to the gym it makes it easier to roll out of bed in the morning and actually GO workout.

Once an athlete, always an athlete.

Maybe when I return to shopping I will buy a pretty pair of beautiful pajamas!

Until then, here’s one thing I know:  I love sleeping in, no matter what I sleep in.

What do you sleep in?
