JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 218 :: hope blooms

6 Aug

Thoughts on trust tonight… Hope is what allows dreams to bloom.

Without hope, it’s hard to have faith, and without faith, it’s hard to focus on love. And, without love, it’s hard to have passion around your plan, and without a plan, well…you know. So, here’s to hope, faith and love with a plan.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 70 :: joy rides

13 Mar

Whoooo! We are at Day 70 of this year. Already. Hard to believe, isn’t it? It is now mid-March for those keeping track.  And, I am learning that joy is all around us.

In one way I am learning an old lesson – you can do anything.

But I think the secret formula for that is this: with JOY. Meaning, with joy you can do anything. If you apply passion to the problem, the persistence ignites.

Here’s to your joy.

More tomorrow…

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 302 :: october fog

29 Oct

I saw this little squirrel out my window today amongst the October fog in the distance. Actually, I first saw his shadow on my wall, squirming, and bustling about. I turned around to see him sitting so close I could touch him if the window were open.

I was so intrigued I decided to look up the meaning of squirrel:

Perhaps they are here to herald a message for us all, not to give up, not to get stressed and as mentioned before there IS time for everything in life. Don’t forget to play, no matter what age you are.

Another listing said:

When the squirrel comes into our lives it is often a message for us to have more fun, and take life a little less seriously. We can see this in the squirrel’s daily antics in our yards and surroundings.

Symbolic Meaning of Squirrel as a Sun-Loving Animal

  • Passion
  • Energy
  • Expression
  • Vitality

Thanks, Mr. Squirrel!
Seems like a kind reminder to me.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 209 must love yoga

4 Aug

Day 209: love.

I’m procrastinating.
I should do yoga.
I almost did yoga, then I did laundry. And vacuumed. And worked.
Now, it’s getting late.
And I have to do yoga.

Ah… it’s good thing I love yoga.

Because it’s hard to do something every single day if you don’t have some sparkle of passion for it. And even when you do, there are days when you don’t want to.

So…now, I must go.
And do some yoga.

More tomorrow.

{do what you love}

2014 BLOG – DAY 51 :: rise up

20 Feb

What is your ideal day?
What time does your ideal day start?
What do you do first? Next? After that?

I promised to talk about “ideal days” today because it relates to peak performance and the gold standard.  Yesterday, I shared the “Think Gold” mantra. Today I am blending these two concepts into a “Gold Medal Day.”

What is a Gold Medal Day?
It’s your perfect day. Your ideal schedule.

I recently reworked my ideal day, and *gasp* it starts at 5:30am!
Starting at sun up to sun down I made a list of everything that I want to accomplish in one day. It looks like this:

5:30 – wake, take thyroid pills, take dogs out
6 – write
7 – plan daily projects
8 – shower and dress
8:30 to noon – meetings and work
12 to 1pm – lunch
1 to 5 – meetings and work
5:30 – gym, workout, play
7 – dinner
8 – blog
9 – read and go to bed

That’s the Gold Medal Day.
It doesn’t happen in that order every single day. Life happens in between, calling my attention to laundry, dogs running inside with muddy feet, date night, fun, friends, travel, fabulous excursions, grocery shopping, naps, what have you!

Like an athlete that trains, this is the schedule that leads to peak performance. There are bronze days and silver medal days too. There are days where I don’t even place in the top three.

As mundane as it seems, this schedule is the big, huge, Olympic goal. It’s the little, tiny, minute steps forward each day that lead to peak performance.

That, and being in it to win it. Putting down a performance everyday with passion, love, dedication and determination.

It’s also a simple equation. Show Up + Rise Up = Gold.

So, now that I’ve shared…
What is your ideal Gold Medal Day?

BLOG – GIFT DAY 346 :: oh the weather outside is…

12 Dec

Frightful? Delightful?

I suppose it depends on who you ask. What’s your weather like?

But I digress…
Because tonight I am thinking about perseverance. Mostly because I can’t stop coughing and this cold is making me tired. It’s also making me look pretty frightful.

But I press on.
And that right there is why I am thinking about perseverance.

I am absolutely convinced that any brand of success comes from two things: Passion + Focus.

It’s the passion that gets you through the tough times. It’s passion that paves the way when you don’t know the answers or how to / what to / where to.

But it’s focus that keeps you on target.

And, tonight, while the weather outside my door is pretty frightful, inside it’s quite delightful because I am focused on showing up every day on this blog. It feels good to have a focus. And it feels good to deliver on a promise.

But more than anything, it feels good to know that I also made a promise to you. In good weather and bad. I will show up because I am no fair weather friend.

I will be here.
For you.

And now, if you’re in the mood to go “ahhh” check out this video of an ad campaign that redefines beauty.

Now I’m off to get my beauty sleep!

More tomorrow.

BLOG – GIFT DAY 301 :: an abundance of sox

28 Oct

In keeping with my promise to seek abundance this year, here’s my Abundance Photo of the Day a little Red Sox love.

We are rooting on our favorite team over here even though we’ve moved to the “other” coast.  And in the middle of all this World Series Showdown I am reminded about something I learned a while ago…  The Joy of Sox.

The Joy of Sox basically describes the power of invisible forces, energy and fans. You can read more here. Need more proof, check out this video on metronomes syncing.

And, of course, I can’t help but think of all the abundance that comes from adding pure love and joy to any pursuit.

Check out this player quote from a recent Boston.com article:

“We’re not curing cancer over here, man,” Dempster said. “We really aren’t. We’re not solving the economic crisis of the country. We’re out there playing baseball. We play a game and we don’t forget that we’re playing a game, and to laugh and to have fun and enjoy it.”

It makes me think….
How can I add fun, love and joy to my pursuits?

What about you? How can you reign in the joy?

More tomorrow.
Lovemore {fearless} PLAYmore!

{What would happen if you added more joy to your week?}
